Finding a new apt is so frustrating...

I'd really like to move somewhere nicer and bigger than our current apartment, but it is so difficult! I call and leave messages and email... But one person has gotten back to me out of maybe 20 inquiries. And she wants to know if we can move in on September 7th instead of the 1st, and where exactly would we go for a week with everything we own?

I was hoping to have a shot at a job about an hour away, so we didn't look at apartments because we might be moving to a different town. But I didn't get it, so we are starting the process a bit late. I want to ask my landlord if we can stay in the apt until the end of Sept instead of the end of August, but he only communicates through snail mail (the man hates talking to his tenants). I can't stay in this apartment for another year, it is small and dark and our stuff doesn't fit into it!

I am tired of living in the "post college just getting started" apartment, I want the "somewhere to put out of town guests aside from the couch" apartment.

Holy crap, that is not OK!

I hope you get it figured out soon.  On the bright side, your current place is likely to be cheaper than anywhere else you would move.  Yaaay for savings!

Tell me about it. He's never once fixed anything in this apartment. Fortunately nothing has been too complicated/expensive to repair on our own. I actually kind of like not having him hanging over us, but it can be a pain in situations like this.

Our current place is crazy cheap compared to most, which is definitely a bonus. I think DH would just as soon stay here if it were up to him. But I just can't do another year here, I need space!
