So I am off to my first Zumba class. From what I hear it is really fun and a great work out. I have to say I am a little worried, my days of ballet, tap and jazz are well behind me and I don't think we ever moved liked that.
Here's hoping I don't fall flat on my face
.
Anyone else tried it? Do you like it? Does it work?
Re: Zumba???
I'm a terrible dancer and I have no rhythm but I have tried it. I don't think it's the hardest cardio work out but it's definitely fun and there are some really challenging songs!
Have fun!
I tried it on the PS3 move and made a fool of myself in front of DD. I haven't tried it again since.
That's interesting that PP's don't think it's enough of a workout, I really wanted to one day get the hang of it because I thought it was supposed to be such a great workout. Now I'm thinking, why bother? Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

ditto this.
This. Some classes are just for fun, I've tried a Zumba class that was more hip hop style and there was a lot of jumping and squatting and moving the arms constantly. And if you dance the whole hour you're guaranteed to get your butt kicked.
Yes. My Zumba teacher doesn't take any breaks for the whole hour and the next day my body was crying with how intense her workouts are. At my last gym though, the class was waaay easy
Thanks for all of your imput ladies!!! The first class was a success and I have to say that from the time the class started until it finished an hour later I was moving and jumping around. I think it was a little Latin and a lot of Hip-Hop because I was jumping around. I have to say that my heart rate was up there as if I had just finished a run. I was begging for a water break!! HAA
I had so much fun doing it and I think my dancing skills came back. I told a girl friend of mine to plan our next girls trip to a Latin country so I can bust out my new found Zumba skills. HAAA
That's awesome! I'm glad you had fun. I wish I had an instructor like that. We had an instructor come to the school where I teach. Most of the ladies were a lot older and overweight so maybe that's why she didn't push us hard.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it!
