Mounds View?

Please tell me what you know about Mounds View.  Parks, trails, schools, restaurants/bars, shopping, etc...

Thank you!

Re: Mounds View?

  • I live just north of Mounds view, and there are quite a few people that open enroll their kids in their school district from here and we have a pretty good district.  That is all I know :)
  • They have an awesome ECFE program.

  • Mounds View has one of the best school districts in the state.  What area of MV are you looking at?  Where you live can have a huge effect on your options for parks, trails and entertainment.  The north end is a little cheaper and close to Northtown, so you have plenty of shopping and restaurants.  The south end is a little sparser when it comes to entertainment.

  • Simply put: it is awesome. I work & go to school at Bethel University in Arden Hills right next to Mounds View, school system is great and there's lots of random little parks all around.

  • I grew up in Shoreview (very close suburb nearby).  The schools are good.  I'm not sure what elementary they would automatically go to, by for high school they would most-likely go to Irondale.  ECFE is great.

The suburbs around here in general have tons of parks and bike trails.  They are well maintained and safe.

As for shopping, I can't think of anything big.  The closest malls are Rosedale and Northtown.

  • Thanks for all the info ladies!

My SO & I recently got a job at an apt complex in Mounds View & we will be living on site.  I grew up in Maple Grove & am not too familiar with the northeast metro. Honestly, I wasn't even sure where MV was before now.  We are currently living in the south metro while most of our family/friends are in the north so we are very happy to be moving closer to everyone!

I will definitely look into the ECFE program & I'm glad to know the school system is good for DS if we decide to stay a few years.  I've also recently started riding my bike again & now I am anxious to check out the trails!
