Young House Love....

Love it or hate it?

I read the blog, but honestly.. I feel they cheap out on a lot of stuff and it just looks bad. Take their wonderful clothespin light fixture today.. horrible!

Re: Young House Love....

  • I read the blog and like it for ideas but their style is not the same as mine. The clothespin chandelier is fug in my opinion.

  • That light fixture looks cheap and ugly!  Pretty clothespin sculptures here
  • I hardly ever read it anymore. I used to follow it when they lived in the old house but I don't like much of anything in the new house and I'm annoyed by a lot of the "filler" posts.
  • Um yea clothespin chandelier is nms, and even if it was hubs would veto as it's like so so so far from what he likes. I agree I've lost intesrest since they moved.

  • I like them, though that clothespin thing is pretty ugly. Whatever you do, don't mention them on the decorating board. It's the "in" thing to hate them with a passion there.

  • i just threw up a little in my mouth from looking at that chandelier.

This exactly, they've lost me.  Still in my Reader but I don't really read their posts at all anymore.   The horse canvases in their bedroom!?!

I gave up around the time they had several posts about what was on their dining room table. Or maybe it was the long drawn out post about mulching around their mailbox. Those are 5 minutes I'll never get back. Tongue Tied

  • I still love the blog...although, I agree about the lengthy mailbox posts...like the one today.  Jeezus, just get to the point(s) already.

I also hate the canvases in their bedroom.  Hate the light fixture in their bedroom...

Yeah, their new house isn't my favorite.

But something keeps me excited to see a new post from them every day.  *shrug*

I think the clothespin chandelier is totally kitchy and cheesy, but sort of perfect for the laundry room.  I actually dig it even though it's something I would never, ever, ever do myself.

  • Just to go against the flow ... Love them. Think the clothespin thing probably looks cuter in person. But still sort of like it.
