If you have one... tell me about it.
Does it do anything else than the IPhone does (other than the fact that it's bigger)?
Do you need to pay for a monthly data plan? How much is it?
What do you like about it?
What don't you like about it?
Anything else?

Re: Question about IPad's?
I'm not sure it does anything different but it's much bigger and more like a laptop than a phone. It's great to sit in front of the TV or in bed and surf the web, etc.
We have a wifi only device, so we don't pay a monthly fee for data.
I really love the thing!! I would rather surf on it than a laptop. I also loving being able to play games, etc on it. It's small and not heavy.
It irritates me that apple regulates EVERYTHING on it. So it has to be in the app store for you to get an app. I'm praying and hoping HTML5 takes off and the app store will go away but I have a feeling that apple might just reject HTML5 like they have flash.

It's bigger than the iphone so it's easier to use in place of a laptop or regular computer. I also like a lot of the apps better - they tend to be a bit, um, fancier, I guess, for lack of a better word, lol.
I dont pay a data fee, just have the wifi one which has been fine. When H gets one we'll probably get a 3G one for him.
It really is awesome. It's less cumbersome than a laptop, even a netbook, and the apps are great, the images are awesome, it's fast, convenient, etc.
We have 2 iTouches- which are iPhones w/o the phones and an iPad 2 (DH has a technology problem.)
The iPad is the best. I hate typing on the iTouches, I am not a huge fan of touch-screen typing, but it's easier to type on the iPad- also we got a keyboard for ours. Our iTouches are wifi only (no data plan) so we got the lowest level data plan for the iPad- I think it's $15 a month and you can monitor your data usage (it will always go for the wifi first.) I know if you have an iPhone you can tether it to the iPad, etc- but it will use a lot of battery I think.
I don't know if Gail is around, but I know she has an iPad and I believe she can edit photos on it in photoshop? I could be mistaken though. I know for your business you could get a credit card swiper-thing that could hook up to iPad and have people pay you that way, etc.
My husband recently got me a first-gen. It might have been refurbished, I'm not sure, but he got a good deal on it.
The biggest thing that it does that the iPhone can't is be used as an e-reader, which I love (I don't have a kindle or anything like that though).
No monthly data plan.
I love everything about it. I love using it as an e-reader, I love surfing the net on it, I love that when you turn it horizontal and type, it's practically like typing on a real keyboard. I love how small and portable it is. I love storing my recipes on the app Paprika.
The only thing I don't like is that because of the glare, you can't use it as an e-reader outside.

my iphone has the kindle app, ibooks, and nook. I have used the kindle app a lot with no problems at all. Are you referencing a e-reader that talks?

I think you can get a glare screen shield to help w/ this.
I have used mine outside- sitting under an umbrella @ the pool and it's been fine.
I just started using mine as an e-reader and I love that you can read ebooks via the kindle app, nook app, etc.
Hmm. I did not know you could use the iPhone as an ereader. Color me wrong! However, I would think reading on that small screen would be an eyestrain, but I just have really bad eyes.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like for the most part it is just a big IPhone. I guess dh will be happy to hear that I am over "needing" one
