Re: New England girls

  • I'm technically a NYer now, but still a NE girl at heart! It's so sad to me that in 2011, people still think like this. She said it so matter of factly...it blows my mind! I guess I shouldn't be surprised by peoples' ignorance, but I still am.

  • Seriously? Hmm

And I don't think you have to be from NE to be offended/disgusted by the "anti-gay-p-town" comment.

  • Hmm

That's not what I was expecting.

I thought this was going to about a GTG when I opened it.

  • People annoy me.

Yeah the comment is offensive to all..just didn't know if everyone else would be familiar with the area.

Totally agree, but I think knowing some background information about P-town helps to put the comment in (utterly ridiculous) context.

  • Yeah, definitely wasn't expecting that. Indifferent

  • Wow... I'd be more afraid of taking my kid to DC or New York City because of crime (not that I wouldn't mind you) and someone's worried about this?! I live in Long Beach, Ca... maybe I should move... we have the GLBT parade here every year and people are openly gay... lol... it's a great place for kids though and I love living here... I suppose I'll stay, lol... Stupidity of people astound me...

That being said, the response with the picture insinuating that the Holy Bible is blinders offended me... there is ignorance on both sides of that post.

    Me too!

People that have to preface something they say with a warning like "I'm not anti-gay" are in fact proving that they are about to make an ignorant remark.

  • I think everyone already summed up my feelings. I remember going to p-town when I was little and my brother really wanted this rainbow perpeller hat so my mom bought it for him lol. All of the men were like "Oh isn't he cute". My dad was a bit uncomfortable with it lol (this was the 80's) but is much more openminded now. I love p-town.
