according to one of my friends up there, the "twitterverse" is exploding with the news that Trader Joe's is going to put a store in your area. Sucks that it's not more central, but at least it's a little closer than Dallas.

There was a Houston Chronicle article back in May saying that Trader Joe's was coming to Texas but they haven't confirmed where yet. I believe they said they would probably build in Dallas before they come here but they have plans for several stores in Texas.

This is a little off subject, but can someone tell me how to find people I know IRL on twitter without searching for each person? The find people button, or whatever, only allows me to find people through linkedin, which I don't have.

If I was twitter friends (is that a term??) with anyone I really knew, I might have heard this same rumor. Sadly, I'm not. =(

Have also seen rumors of Wild Oats or Whole Foods...both of which would be nice, but would really love my TJs back.

Off topic, but have y'all seen that Container Store is going in where Circuit City/Halloween Store was by the mall? Opening in November. My SIL is beside herself with excitement.

I saw that about Container Store! I'm happy about that too. Hadn't heard anything about TJs but we're gettin a new HEB/Central Market hybrid at 1488@ Kuykendahl...I think that's what the billboard on 45 said, anyway.

Yep! The folks in the Alden Woods/College Park area are all abuzz over the new HEB. I don't live near it but drive by it often and it looks like it's getting close to being done. The sign says it's slated to open in the Fall. And in case you didn't alreadt know, that segment of Kuykendahl recently opened....so now there'll be access to that HEB from part of Alden Bridge.

I'd be surprised if they've already chosen a location. Either way, I think they'd be foolish to build anywhere but central. It needs to accessible to the entire greater Houston area, not to mention the "cool," urban, hipster vibe is centrally located.

I've heard it may be going in on West Alabama at Shepherd where the old Bookstop used to be. I was searching for info on Twitter last night and ran across that piece of info. But then other people were saying that Trader Joe's isn't confirming or denying anything regarding potential locations.
