Boss told me today that Friday's my last day. She couldn't justify keeping me to her boss since my team's workload has gone down (which is what I was hired for), and the company's sales were not very good last quarter.
I was only going to work through Sept 9, which would have been 5 more weeks. At this point, it doesn't make much sense to try to get another job before the baby's born. So maybe I'll have a little break and some quality time with Nate before he becomes a big brother. But, I will let the staffing agency know my available dates so that if they have a really short term job come up I can work a little. Working is better for our finances...
Re: i'm hoping it's a blessing in disguise
That is a bummer, but it probably is a blessing in disguise.
Short term stints in different places may help make the next few weeks fly by, not to mention the extra time with Nate.
I'm sorry.

Definitely stinks that you will lose out on the money, but you definitely will enjoy your quality time with Nate.
I totally understand the stress since we are a single income family as well. It is definitely an adjustment and you always think of the things you can do if you did have the extra money. But you will look back on those final weeks where it was just you & Nate and think of how nice it was.
Well, I am sure Nate will love the mommy/son time.
And who knows, some work could pop up!
Thanks everyone.
I had figured that we have enough in savings for me to have 2 months off after baby is born. So now it may be 1 month before and 1 month after, unless we can really stretch it.
I will love being home again, though! If we didn't need my income to pay the bills, I wouldn't work at all. I was made to SAH. (I try not to say this too much though because it makes Rodgers feel bad that he couldn't find a job that pays well enough to support a family.)
That really stinks, but maybe it is a blessing in disguise. The time with Nate will be great.
