It's a jolly holiday on Wednesday

Whew. PMS week so I am exhausted and even more proud of myself for eating well.

Last night my trains were running, so I jumped on another line and MFD got me at stop close to home and took me to my car. At home I changed and did a 55 minute Cardio Burn It dance thing On Demand. I was sweating my patoot off. MFD went to mummery. I ate dinner, ran the dishwasher, watched The Glades and Rizzoli & Isles on DVR, then old episodes of The Office and some House Hunters. I took the dogs for a walk and hung out with MFD from 11-12 when he got home.

I got up at the buttcrack and drove in this morning. Relay dinner meeting tonight at Chickies & Pete's in South Philly. Blargh.

I might go for the gusto and try to do Bed Bath & Beyond tonight for a shower gift as well since I'll already be out, then tomorrow night I can just go straight home after work. I also need to pick up a spot of produce. I'm running out of fruit and am trying to make good choices overall on the weekend too so I need more.

Re: It's a jolly holiday on Wednesday

  • boo, i hate running out of food mid-week, it is the pits.  Especially fruit/produce because it is so pricey.  Lame sauce.

Had a good run last night, it was short, but it was my hill run.  2.4 miles of all hills, and I managed to shave 4 minutes off my time and really run through it.  I felt great!

Tonight it is my new 5 mile loop and I am looking forward to it.  I would love it if we had some clouds, running in the sun is so not fun.  Then going to make some homemade corn chowder with fresh sweet corn from my parent's garden, and a salad for dinner.  I cannot wait, it is going to be delicious.

Steph, I am also on my PMS week, but knock on wood, so far so good!

    I want a massage...

  • I woke up this morning to Pierce getting in the trash over the night.. Grrr... I had to be to work early this morning I did not want to clean it up. Especially after I slept like crap!

Our sink hole in front of our house got even bigger last night. If I am not on for a couple days and haven't posted on fb it means I have been eaten by the hole. I will miss all you ladiesStick out tongue Or maybe they have internet where ever you go when you get eaten by a sink hole.

Tonight is trivia, I hope I stay awake for it. I have been so tired!

Shauni- Yay! For shaving 4 minutes off your time

  • xtine-  is this a new occurance or something that kinda happens every year.  Does it get better after a while?

While I'm not pms'ing, I have on my 4th month of a 9 month stint of raging hormones.  Stick out tongue   And they are in full force.  I wrote a fb status last night about hunting season.  Last night at 10 or so my phone vibrates saying I have a new comment.  It was from my friend's brother and it basicially says that I complain all the time about Josh and "why did you even get married" and that I should choose to be happy instead of depressed.  Instead I chose to respond- not even with half the rage I was feeling though.  I'm still kinda fuming today about it.

Other than that, it's a sunny day (gonna be a hot one again though) and we're half way through the week!!  Yahoo!!!

  • That's actually while I need to hotfoot it back to the store, plums and peaches are currently 88 cents/pound. I like it!!!

Good work on the hill run. Fingers crossed we (and in my case, everyone else, since I am a raging PMSer) make it through this week alive and not stuffed full of bad foods. Tonight is my sort of convenient cheat. Must have crab fries at Chickie's.

  • Mary, I detest when people beeotch all the time on FB. BUT you are not one of those people. We all complain, and we have every right to. It's human nature. I didn't think you sounded like a depressed person in that status. Congrats on not murdering that poster. He sounds like King Douche of the Fartland.

Thanks!   I think some people put a lot of inappropriate stuff on fb.  you take it for what it is.

  • The sink hole is new, it's in the concreate on the street. I first noticed it last wednesday after work and it has double in size in just a week. The city did spray paint a nice white box around it.

  • Is it possible to sync up w/ internet ladies?  I'm PMS-ing as well, but luckily on the tail end.

Last night I almost blew a gasket at Grandpa.  For some reason the 84 yr old man thought he could remember directions from the hospital to the assisted living facility his wife is being moved to.  No, he could not.  MIL politely hands me the phone to get him unlost and back on track.  PMS + Misty + deaf Grandpa + lost Grandpa = hell.on.earth.

My reward for not killing him was chili cheese dogs and beer from Buffalo Wild Wings.  For some reason I would kill a baby squirrel for a chili cheese dog when it's that time of the month.

Xtine-played trivia last night at BWW, I've missed it SO much!

Shauni-you are rockin the running, so proud of you!

Steph-good for you and your healthy choices.  Your energy astounds me though, how can you stay awake till midnight AFTER working out, cleaning, etc?  Simply amazing.

    Any update on MIL situation?

I talked to DH last night and he said no way in hell are we living with her.  Once our townhouse sells, we will start house hunting for ourselves.  I told him if he didn't tell her this then I will, and I will be far less polite than him, so he better get on it.  We'll see what happens...

And Mary, I saw your FB status and thought it was fine.  I agree w/ Steph, that guy is one big d-bag..

  • Brew- I was talking with a friend the other day and i was saying B is going to know so much trivia knowledge  before she can talk because I will be taking her. It's a family restaurant not a bar so I don't find it that bad.

I have actually joked if I have her on a Thurday, I won't miss a week because I can be back at trivia for wednesday. (I will not actually do this)

  • Misty, staying up late is killing me but MFD and I haven't seen each other a lot in the past week. He got home at 11 Monday night and last night so I stayed up to see him. Blahhhhh.

    I'm tirrrrrrred.

  • Today is a pretty good day - it's cooler than usual (though humid) and I might have some good data.  Also I'm presenting a poster, so I look cute today.  ALSO - I finally finally ordered a new phone, after agonizing about it for months.  I got a Droid 3, but it won't ship til the 9th, so it will still be over a week til I get it.

I was wondering the same thing when I read all the status updates this am.

K was in a much better mood last night and apologized for his epic Monday meltdown.  We had chicken salad sandwiches for dinner and he picked up Rita's while I packed all the crap we needed for today.  Then he snuggled me good while I cried myself to sleep.  Dropping the baby at daycare was much harder than I ever anticipated!

I had 636 unread emails this morning.  After 3+ hours at work I'm down to 458.  And as much as I appreciate all the well-wishers stopping by, it would be a lot easier to NOT miss Baby Q if they didn't keep asking how I'm doing being away from him with their sad pouty faces.

  • Susie the greatest thing about sending your kiddo off to daycare is when you pick them up. They have Christmas cheer all over their face. Every day. That's what gets me through the day, even after 3 1/2 years, it will never be easy.
  • Susie- Sending hugs your way. I have worked in daycare/preschools for years and know they are lovely places, with teachers who truely care about what they do for a living, for no money. However,   when I drop B off I will be a mess. Even if she could come with me I think I would be a mess. At least you

I think it's poopy, then, that K will be picking him up every day.  At least I'll get a 'Mommy's home' smile/dance (when he's big enough).

  • This whole week has sucked a-hole, mainly because AF came to visit Monday but also because I am stressed to the max.

And today I had to take my moms dog (my dog when I was younger) to the vet to have surgery on her ear because she got a hematoma (sp?) from shaking her head due to allergies. And I felt so bad leaving her there this morning and I go pick her up today around 2 or 3. It killing me, I have been crying off and on all day so far. UGH, I need this week to be over!!

  • steph - I sent you a msg on fb concerning next week.  I figured we should stop rubbing it in everyone's faces here  :)

Xtine - I hope you do get internet in the sink hole.  It sounds like you're headed there.   Maybe the city's white box is just a really advanced modem in disguise.  I mean, it should do SOMETHING right?

SuzieQ - this is so weird. I remember when you were pregnant.  Day care?!

    Laura - let's see photos :)

Brew - so nice to have you posting again.

Shauni - after months of feeling inadequate from watching you and Steph post about your cooking at home, I finally have something to share.  Last night will mark the 3rd night I cooked in a row.   Sunday I made BBQ chicken (I parboiled it first), night before I did Jerk chicken wings, and last night I did a whole Chinese fried chicken.  All with assorted sides, all made from scratch.  Ha!  Aren't you proud of me?

  • Probably one of the few that PMS will not hit me this week, but it should be next Stick out tongue. Yesterday was the last basic obedience session with our trainer and dog; my dog passed with flying colors and we'll be moving onto intermediate w/other dogs, yay. DH and I were going to go for a run but A) it was hot and B) we were hungry so we opted for dinner and then I took the dog on a short walk once it cooled off. We also scored a dogloo and smallish dresser as one of the neighbors moved (or got foreclosed on). I think we'll donate the dogloo to an animal rescue as our dog stays inside and she doesn't like that thing.

Today - payday and it's an extra paycheck for me this month. So I have some grocery shopping to do, sending my "text while driving" citation off (which DH still doesn't know about) in the mail and then menu planning so I don't forget anything at the grocery store. Okay enough of my ramble for today, hope ya'll have a good one.
