Do any of you think he is gross?
He is such a low life, and they way he comes across on the show looks like he WANTS Theresa and her brother to keep feuding. He talks badly about Melissa while he is the one who declared bankruptcy, Got the DWI and had the kids think he was on a fishing trip while he spent some time locked up.

Yes he is. I try to think if he was as gross in the past, but this season he totally skeeves me out.
I keep thinking that some of it has to be depression or something from the bankruptcy and all the drama that followed that.

I was making comments about how sloppy he seems this season and DH said it was probably depression with everything going on.

I feel like this season was when he really started to be this way. And like most of you said, it's probably due to the stress of their financial situation.
I have to admit, he's a constant source of laughter for me. I crack up watching how annoyed and sluggish he always appears to be and I don't know why.
He goes from jumping around and doing splits in their camping vacation home, to barely being able to get out of bed to watch his daughters open Christmas presents. The time when he roundhouse kicked the punching bag in their garage, I nearly lost it.
I imagine with everything going on, it must be difficult for a man to have a somewhat nagging, over-dramatic, money hungry wife and 4 spoiled rotten daughters, no?

I also think it's severe depression, and he's self-medicating with alcohol. It can't be easy to live in the house (and with the wife) that financially ruined you. Not that he didn't contribute to that, but you know what I'm saying.
That was a man with a massive hangover on Christmas morning. I was hurting just watching him.
I don't know if Joe/Teresa will divorce...I think they have a genuine affection for each other. She seems to enjoy his brutishness/uncouthness and he seems to enjoy having a done-up wife that takes care of his kids.
