s/o: How much did/do you pay for birth control?
This got me thinking. How much do you pay and for what type (and per what period, i.e. a month, etc.)?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Re: s/o: How much did/do you pay for birth control?
Well, I just switched health insurance plans, so I used to be paying a $40 copay once a month for BCP (mine is a brand). With my new plan it will be $35 once I hit the deductible, but that won't be for another month or so, so the last time I picked it up it was like $76. Ouch.
I figure that's cheaper than having a baby though.

Under my old PPO, my birth control cost a total of $80 or $90 per month, and I was responsible for paying $60 of it. It was a case of a patented drug that did not yet have a generic; my insurance would have covered more of it if it was a generic.
Then I switched to Kaiser and I don't remember what they covered of that particular method of bc. I switched to an IUD soon after getting Kaiser. I don't remember what I paid for that when I got it... but whatever it was, it was a one-time cost (well, for five years at least, when I have to get a new IUD or find a new method).
I've been on my husband's health insurance for years. On average about $50 for 3 months of pills (generic).
I finally have my own health insurance but I'm not sure what it will change to.
I've never paid more than my office and/or prescription co-pay, so, $5-$10
(oh, and that was for 3 months of pills or 5 years of IUD)
I got robbed! I just paid $350 for my IUD, which was after the 80% the insurance covered. I hope I was given the gold plated variety

What the hell??? That is crazy. I don't think I paid more than $100 for my share of the IUD. What insurance do you have? I'm so sorry you had to pay that much.
I paid nothing for my IUD w/ Kaiser.
I have had Mirena 2 times and Paragaurd now and did not pay for any of them, not even an office visit (the first Mirena was when I had no copay office visits the other 2 office visits were lumped in with annuals which have no copay, had I not done it as an annual the visit would be $15 I think...).

EJ is growing up too fast!
I was doing FAM before TTC, so one time cost for a thermometer and TCOYF and that was about it.
For BCP before that, I think I was paying about $30 for one month if I went in to pick it up, or $30 for 3 months if I did mail-in ordering.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
When I was covered by health insurance, I paid a $20-ish dollar co-pay for the Pill.
When I was not covered I paid $50-$70 per month for the Pill.
Now that I am covered again, I should only be paying a $15 co-pay. And with my new mail-in perscription plan, I can get a three month supply for the same $20 co-pay.
When I had insurance, I paid $20 per month for the generic version of my BCP.
Since losing my insurance and having to work at jobs with no benefits, I have qualified for whatever the program is that lets Planned Parenthood give it to me for free. They're wonderful.
