Rec your OBGYN round 2...OKC
Who do you use and why do you like them?
What hospital do they deliver at?
Re: Rec your OBGYN round 2...OKC
PS. Have you ever met Kristen Chenoweth? I have. And she's HYSTERICAL. She's actually from Broken Arrow and one of her best friend's was my show choir teacher in high school so she came to visit us. If I could find the picture I have with her I would share it... She's a freak. Like 4'7"... She's TINY.
Anywho...
Missing our little turkey.
Estimated Due Date 11/13/12 | Natural Miscarriage 4/17/12
I use Karen Wilks @ Mercy, She delivers at Mercy and Deaconess. I love her, she's so kind and she actually listens to you and spends more than 5 minutes with you. I also like how positive and upbeat she is, she also doesn't sugarcoat things, she's completely upfront and honest. Her nurse Tammy is amazing as well, whenever I call and leave a message for her she ALWAYS returns your call within an hour.
If I were not dealing with IF stuff (currently) and also planning on a C-section for pre-existing issues (thus needing an actual OB surgeon), I would go to the midwives at OU.
DH did his OBGYN rotation at OU and worked with the midwives. He strongly recommends them and really thought the experience was amazing.
I started seeing Dr. Kallenberger at Integris this year for IF. I really like him, esp. the more we see him. I'm planning on him doing our delivery when we finally get pregnant.
Can I get all personal and ask why you're switching? I go to Dr. Lashbrook and have for years. I love her and all her staff. I love the whole office, really. I've had my fair share of wacky female medical problems and she's always been great.
I love Dr. Lashbrook and she was fabulous during my last pregnancy, but Norman Regional is "once a c-section always a c-section". (I ended up having one with my last pregnancy) If they change this in the next couple of years I would love to stay with them especially since the new hospital is right down the road from me.
Schultz at OU.. Love him because he lets you be in control of your body, pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Also, he is willing to come up to the hospital to deliver you even if he is not on call, the only way he won't is if he is out of town or has been on call in the few hours before. Plus, I really like his long fingers.... Get your mind out of the gutter!!!! It never hurt when he would check me or when he actually stripped my membranes.
He was great when I went through my last MC and the whole thing start to finish with B. I also had an "issue" in the last couple of months and he was great to work with through all of that. He didn't act like I was a weirdo and was very sincere in helping me get past it.
I used Dr. Buchinger at Renaissance Women's Center. He used to be in MWC but recently moved to Edmond (so I don't use him anymore).

I think my husband liked him more than I did...primarily b/c he included my husband as much as possible when I was pregnant with both of my kids and took time to explain stuff to us. He's very friendly. He also is pretty willing to prescribe stuff (most of which I didn't take).
IDK if he has the same nurses, but if he does, it's 50/50. One's amazing, the other one acts like she'd rather not be there and you not be there.
So, you like Dr. K? I am trying to switch to him. I don't have any IF. But he delivered me, both of my sisters, and all of my sisters 4 children. So some part of me would love him to deliver my children. He's had a waiting list for years but finally doesn't so I need to switch. When he delivered my last niece, I was 18. He and my mom are old friends as she was once one of his nurses and they play a lot of racquetball together. And when he was delivering my niece he looked at me and said "I delivered her?! Oh.. I need to retire!". Haha I really should switch.
I know some patients don't like him, especially upon first impression, but I really think he's just a quiet and more reserved person. As we've been in there for more appointments, he's not only won us over with his knowledge and professionalism, but also his compassion. And, I adore his two nurses. They call me back within an hour every time and are just so sweet.
I hope you can get in with him. I'm not sure what his protocol is for accepting non IF or specialty referral patients.
