Houston Couponers?

Hi there!  I'm wondering if any of you ladies are couponers and have any suggestions for shopping in the Houston area now that Kroger doesn't double coupons?

I read that Randall's does... but I'm not sure that the extra 50 cents would really matter with the higher price of groceries at Randall's compared to say HEB.

Where do you ladies find is the best place to find deals?

Re: Houston Couponers?

  • I was a diehard Kroger shopper myself, but boycotted once they stopped doubling and tripling.  Now I shop at HEB.  I LOVE their selection...they seem to have the best and freshest produce, a great deli/bakery/meat/seafood selection, and cheap prices.  Even though they don't double/triple, I think with their prices, manufacturer coupons, and the store coupons they have every week (and they make it so damn easy to find them/use them), I am sold on HEB.

I like Randall's and will shop there sometimes, but I think they're more expensive generally.

  • I know Target allows 1 Manu coupon and 1 Target coupon on things, so I tend to get a few things there (not really grocery-wise, though - moreso toiletries, etc.).  I am not a super-saver shopper, though, and Target probably has a little higher prices to start from, but I am usually there for other things, anyway, so it works for me.

Another HEB fan for the same reasons. Also, their store brand is excellent and we prefer it to the name brand in some cases.

I will say I've seen some decent deals at Randalls sometimes, but not enough to make me a regular shopper

  • Thank you ladies!  I already shop at HEB... I just really wanted to make sure I'm getting the beset bang for my coupons.  I do try to get most of my cleaning supplies at Wal-Mart, but I am considering taking those coupons to the Dollar Store and seeing how I do there.

I really appreciate all of the advice!
