We don't typically get 'a lot' of snow but I think we get enough of it.  A couple years ago we had 2 blizzards back to back and got several feet with each storm, but last year was somewhat mild and we only got a handful of storms that produced more than a foot.  It's just enough to be pretty but not enough to be sick of shoveling, so I'll take it lol.

  • I live in and grew up in the Buffalo area and we get quite a bit of snow, but not as much as some areas.  Some areas that get a lot of snow do a good job of taking care of it because they are used to taking care of it.  Even though Ann Arbor and Boston get less snow than Buffalo I thought it was more of a problem because they weren't as good at removing it and drivers in those areas didn't do a great job driving in it.  Personally I'd take lots of snow over other natural disasters.

  • I would love to see snow!  Both C and I are Florida babies, so I haven't seen it since I was 12 years old on vacation and he's NEVER seen it.  I was hoping we could take a trip this Christmas and experience that, but seeing as though I will be 8 months pregnant, I think it will have to wait until Winter 2012-2013.

Bleh with the amount of snow we got this past winter I'm sick of it. I remember I had to shovel a path for comcast so they could connect lines to the house, and the snow was almost to my boobs. Shoveling that suuuucked sooooo bad.

But of course there's nothing I love more than a snowy christmas.

  • we get a fair amount, but not so much that it gets unbearable...DH and I were just in Alaska and asked how much snow they got in Juneau and it wasn't as bad as I would've thought ;-)  Only about 40 inches on average

lol snow in the boobs is not ok! haha. I complained to H "OMG I am not getting my ass out in the cold to shovel snow!" His reply was..."Well thats what a snowblower is for" (hits head on desk)

Here ya go - courtesy of this past winter's big storm that dropped 10 inches of snow/ice:

This is my truck, covered in ice and snow (took us 30 minutes to dig it out, and another 10 to pry the door open so I could get in).

And this is Zach walking on top of 10 inches of snow and ice to go get a shovel (back of our apartment).

Trust me, you're not missing anything. In fact, if you want proof, I'd be happy to trade you for a full season.

  • ewwww snow is annoying. all it does is mess with your plans and ability to get to work. and then you have to shovel it.

I'm in central pa and we get a good amount but not *too* much (usually).

  • If you want to see snow, head up to northern Saskatchewan.  It's generally knee high from October to April.  We get a fair bit here in Ottawa, but I found that I missed the snow when I left Saskatchewan.

I also enjoy shoveling, and there is so much fun to be had in a big pile of snow!

  • I'm in Houston so our idea of snow is a half inch that we get once every couple/few years.  I would love to live somewhere with seasons, though, which would mean snow.  I always make it a point to visit my sister in Boston sometime during the winter because I love it so much.  But I would only make it actually living in it if I lived in a building where they did the shoveling for me.

My parents are from upstate NY and my dad said he has shoveled his last driveway...he won't even go visit during the winter...that's how much he hates the snow/winter.
