Chinese fortune ideas

I have collected special fortunes over the years, and I want to make something neat to display them. I am at a loss! I have 12 of them, and was thinking of making them branches of a tree and framing? Other ideas?

Re: Chinese fortune ideas

  • I really like your tree idea.  Are you still collecting the fortunes and plan to add more in the future?

If there is anyway you could transfer the fortune onto fabric and make fabric leaves for the tree, that would look pretty.  Maybe scan the fortune and print them out on the iron on sheets you can get at an office supply or hobby store, then put it on fabric.

You could paint the tree onto fabric or a canvas, or embroider the tree onto something that resembles a scroll to hang on the wall and attached each leaf as you collect them.  Make the tree be really tall so you can add future leaves... start adding the leaves at the top and work your way down.

ETA: you could make a quilt with a tree in the design and add leaves to that, too.

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

  • We have a bunch that are on magnets.

I've also got a frame in my kitchen that I use as a dry-erase board, that I've been started to put them in.

  • I've been decoupaging a small wooden box with a bunch that I have collected over the years. I started with maybe twenty on the top, then did one side at a time. I've probably got enough to do the inside now, too.
