Make-Up: Daily Face?

I feel like we've talked about make-up before, but it's been awhile.

What's your daily make-up routine?

1. Monistat Anti-Chaffing crap as primer.
2. Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation.
3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser (this thing is freaking AWESOME)
4. Some cheap cream blush from CVS
5. Light shimmery eyeshadow under my brows
6. Brighter/Darker eyeshadow on my lids
7. Eyeliner on top lids
8. Mascara
9. Finish with Neutrogena Skin Clearing Powder

  • I've been really trying to step up my makeup game the last month or so. I feel prettier and more confident when I do a little more and it just takes a few minutes longer to do. Here's what I do most days:

Moisturizer (Should use a primer here - note to self to buy some)
MAC concealer under eyes and any blemishes
Revlon Colorstay foundation on the lower half of my face to even out redness
Some cheap CG powder to set everything (should use better quality powder probably)
BareMinerals Warm during the summer as a bronzer and BareMinerals Lovely blush during the rest of the year
BareMinerals Queen Phyllis (light and shimmery) as an all over base on my eyelid from lashline to eyebrows and in the corners
Ulta gold color from lashline to crease
    Warm brown blended in crease
Sephora brand warm brown liner on the top lid (from outer edge to about 3/4 way down) then smudged
    Sephora brand eyebrow pencil
Buxom mascara like whoa on curled lashes
    Nude lipliner
    Burts bees chapstick
    Buxom lipgloss in Dolly
  • Most days:

    -Pond's moisturizer
-Neutrogena under eye stick (now I wanna check out the eraser thingie CD mentioned....mine is not awesome.  haha)
    -Lash Blast Mascara
-Blue or Black eyeliner on the bottom
-Eyeshadow: lighter on the inside; darker on the outside.

I don't really do all over makeup/blush unless I'm going out and want it to last.

  • 1. BE Moisturizer
    2. BE Primer
    3. Mac concealer under eyes and blemishes
    4. BE Well-rested as eye primer

    7. BE Blush, sometimes bronzer
    8. BE eyeshadow, usually one shade sometimes 2
    9. MAC black wet eyeliner
    10. Maybelline Full & Soft mascara

ETA: Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss applied 1200 times a day, I'm addicted.

It seems like a lot typed out but only takes me 10 minutes.

ITA. I feel so much prettier & confident on the days that I take the time (10 minutes) to do my makeup & when I do my hair. I look SO much better.

Ex. - Yesterday I kinda hustled getting ready because I was running late. Therefore, my makeup routine suffered. A male CW told me I looked run down. How sweet of him.

  • I rarely wear makeup to work.
  • Moisturizer
    Blush
    Eyeshadow
    Mascara

If I'm going out to something "special" then I'll throw on some eyeliner and I'll throw some loose powder over any trouble spots if need be.

I particularly enjoy when I put on my makeup and walk out, and DH tells me I look tired. I assume that if it overpowers all that makeup, I genuinely am too tired. But still, I don't need to hear that.

  • I've really trying to look more Put together at work. It's very easy to bum it as a Nanny. I'm gettin better with putting outfits together and fixing my hair, but makeup is still lacking. I try to at least wear powder, blush and mascara. If I'm going to church or out it's a full face though. Foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, and mascara. I use different stuff all the time, I have tons of makeup.

Primer (that makes me think of painting a wall)
    Mineral Veil

On a related note, if you turn pink very easily you should skip blush, right? I think prom and my wedding would be the only 2 times I've ever used blush.

Primer creates a smooth layer on your skin beneath foundation. It really helps me because I have some drier patches due to acne treatment. I use Monistat's Anti-Chaffing Gel because its essentially the same thing as Smashbox's, but significantly cheaper.

In lieu of blush, I'd use a product like Benefit's High Beam over my cheeks to highlight them.

It's hard for me to feel motivated to do too much face/hair when I'm wearing scrubs that make me look like an inmate. If I wear real clothes I will use brow highlighter, eye shadows, and lip gloss as well.

  • In order of how I apply:

    1. aveeno moisturizer
    2. laura mercier oil-free foundation
    3. MAC studio sculpt foundation which I use as concealer
    4. laura mercier loose powder to set foundation
    5. studio gear blush in sun glow (my fave)
    6. benefit's high beam on the inner corner of my eyes, eyebrow arch and top of cheek bones
    7. curl lashes
    8. eyeliner (my faves are revlon colorstay and loreal hip gel liner)
    9. lash stilleto mascara
    10. lipstick (clinique black honey, chanel nude lipliner, and MAC viva glam 5 are in frequent rotation)

Wow, now that I typed that out, it seems like I wear a lot but everyone always tells me that my makeup looks natural (I don't like the caked on look).  All in all, it takes me about 15 minutes to put it all on.

  • I'm using Mary Kay as far as face wash and moisturizer go right now because my friend gets it to me for cheap.  It works, my face feels fine.

    - liquid foundation
    - loose powder
    - blush (although I can't find it right now)
    - eye shadow
    - mascara

I need to get a better make up plan going.  I'm not in love with anything in my make-up bag right now.

  • My daughter painted my nails today, does that count?
