As long as we're talking about advertising...
I need ideas. I feel like I need to get the good word out there about what I am doing. Aside from the obv - business cards, social media, etc - I am in need of some seriously creative ideas and my brain is shot.
What do you girls think (yes, even you lurkers who drive the viewed number up to a bizillion views without replying... rude!
) ? I am going to call Heritage Village in Largo and see about selling items there (they sell a lot of local crafter's works). But other than that I got nothing.
Re: As long as we're talking about advertising...
Maybe try going to boutiques or even consignment shops to see if they would be willing to sell stuff? Craft shows?
Leave business cards everywhere you can think of... gyms, publix, church, anywhere there is a msg board.
Make sure to "pin" your own stuff on pinterest. Ive seen a bunch of cute etsy stuff that way.
See if you can talk to local newspapers, newsletters to see if they would be interested in doing an article about what you are doing.
I wonder how much it costs to put an add in TBT?
I feel so weird about self promotion... Like, I pinned one thing that I did and I felt dirty. lol. I am actually "friends" with the couple from the Times article my blog is based on on another website (holy run on?). He is a writer for the times. But again, self promotion.
I need to look up craft shows. Great idea!
There are a lot of great craft shows in the fall/winter time, so now would be a good time to start looking and seeing how much it costs to participate.
Here is a great one in November at Coachman's park. http://www.clearwaterjuniors.org/ I always go and walk around that one. They usually have a good turnout there.
In December is the Safety Harbor craft fair on Main Street. Another one that has a large turnout. It's put on by the Kiwanis in Safety Harbor. I always go to this one too.
Dunedin also has craft fairs and I'm certain they have one in the fall.
Good luck!
