I know it is only August...but help me brainstorm Halloween costumes :)
My sewing machine and serger are both back in their boxes (here is a picture I took of LA playing on them just the other day--even she looks somber about it)

So, since I can't sew and won't be for a little while, help me think of what kind of costume LA needs for Halloween
She has been Tigger and Pebbles in the past. So...what cute ideas do you have??

I second one of the posters that said Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. She would look adorable.
You could make her a princess. You can make a tutu (don't have to sew), a cute top, cute little shoes, wand, etc.
I hate that we never know what to expect weather wise in late October- we've been melting some years, and freezing (not literally- just really, really chilly for Floridians- LOL) some years. It makes it hard to plan a costume!
Last year I ripped off the PBK owl costume for Gwen and it was so simple to do. She wore it for all of 10 minutes, so thank goodness the fabric was cheap. I want to go girlie this year- fairy, princess, cutesie witch- not sure- but, it will involve fluffy chiffon skirts and glitter.
I figure she can do tights and l/s top if it's chilly.
Gabe wants to be Mario, Luigi, or Toad. He's going through a bit of a SMB phase. Whichever one he settles on, it has to be easier than last year's bowling pin!
All I hear when you say glitter is that school supply commercial where the teacher is rattling off supplies and the last one is glitter and she says something like "glitter...oh so much glitter!" with a twinkle in her eye!
Not related to your project, but as a teacher, I detest glitter. As someone once referred to it...Glitter is the STD of the craft world. It.never.goes.away!!

At least living as far south as you do, you can do tights and a long sleeved shirt under her costume.
If your son wants to be a SMB character, your daughter could be Princess Toadstool.
that's what DH says every time he sees something glittery. he put an embargo on all things glitter!!!
lol. Too true. Sequins are just as bad, and my daughter says that she thinks tulle/net scraps are right up there.
I've been thinking about Halloween too....for the pups (of course).
Make her be a cupcake. My 'pupcake' costumes from a few years ago were so much fun to make. They had cute little headpieces too. The chocolate one had 'a cherry on top', the swirl had the point of the swirl, and the tiered cake (with pipe cleaner swirls and flowers) had 'flowers' that stood up, like they were in a pot.
Well, maybe I should've said sparkle- I don't know. I don't plan on actually glittering her- but, I do have sparkly fabric in mind! :-p
How about Abby or the other girl (can't remember her name) from Sesame Street?!? Both would be easy with tutus and super cute accessories.
BTW... can you tell I don't have kids since i don't know the Sesame Street characters names. At least not the newer ones.
