Meat Eaters
Seth and I have started eating local beef.
How many ounces of ground beef are in a patty?

I make my own, since I buy a meat share of Highland beef and ground buffalo meat by the pound, but I find most preformed are between 1/4 and 1/3 of a pound.
If you use leaner meat, the patties will shrink considerably when grilled/cooked. So I tend to make my patties 1/3-1/2 pound so that they shrink to the size of the bun and are still thick enough that they don't overcook.
