Re: Thankful Thursday

  • Today is a good day for this because I am in a crappy mood and I need some perspective lol

I am thankful for coffee. I may have a major caffeine addiction, but it's what gets me through the day so I appreciate it's existence.

I am thankful DH is taking some vacation time in less than 2 weeks. It will be the first time he has taken time off this summer, and I can't wait!

  • I'm thankful that MIL is healthy enough to travel again. She's staying with us for a couple of days before taking a trip up to Nova Scotia, then coming back and staying with us for another week or so.

I'm thankful that it's almost Friday.  Seriously, I need a break.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Heh, LadyE, I am also staring down the barrel of a crap day and feeling stabby.  With that said,

I am thankful that my husband finally got a firm date they'll be let go, and that it's not til April 30th. I am really hoping he has something long before then, but at least we can breathe a little easier, and he can stop feeling so jerked around. (The whole process started two years ago when his current company announced his division was being sold.)

I am thankful that we are going out to dinner on Saturday night.  We haven't been out to dinner in ages (well, since my birthday, I guess),  and we have a gift card for Fleming's that has been sitting around since Christmas.  So wine and steak it is!

  • I am thankful our basement is now livable. It felt like it would never get done and it was so surreal sitting down there last night.

  • I'm thankful for the opportunity to take a beginner ballet class with the Boston Ballet.

I'm thankful for my cute kitty who was just yelling at me.

I'm thankful that the bakery next door has good coffee to support my laziness and coffee addiction.

    That sounds fun!

I am thankful that tomorrow is the last day of earnings season (busy time at work) and I can go back to normal hours next week.

I am thankful that we leave for my 30th birthday trip (Amsterdam, The Hague, London) 2 weeks from today!!  I so need this vacation.

  • I am thankful that I actually get to go somewhere that does not involve running errands today. I am going to Chinatown with a friend.

I am also thankful that I am in the home stretch of my time as an unemployed person. I start my new job at the end of the month.

So jealous of your trip!  Have a great time!  Should we do lunch before or after your travels?

I don't think I've seen you around here before, so welcome to the board!  Where are you going to eat in Chinatown?

Either is fine for me!   I'm free for lunch 8/12, 8/15 & 8/16....do any of those work for you?  If not we can figure out something when I get back.

  • I am thankful DS is napping.

I am in a bad mood and am stewing over something personal and can't think of anything else.

Sad  I hate when I get in that mindset.  I hate more when I know I should stop but can't. Hope it gets better soon.

All of those work for me, too.  Drop me an email at rocknvoll at gmail and let's work it out!

  • I'm thankful that DH finally mailed in his grad program application. Hopefully by next year he'll have a real full-time teaching job and can actually start being paid a remotely normal salary.

I'm thankful that finally, after 3 years of living here, is starting to feel like we actually have some friends!

    No That sucks.

I am in a crappy mood too, but it's more like a bunch of little things pissing me off. My car is in the shop and I have been stuck at home since Monday, DS was up a bunch of times last night and has only napped for a half hour today, etc.

  • rock - you have mail!
  • I have one more!

I just found out officially that I won't have to go to Jordan again in January. I'm so happy. Seriously. It was such a miserable trip last year, and I was really not looking forward to being away from my husband and the pooch for 8-10 days again. YAY!

That looks awesome! You must have a ton of extra space now!

Thank you! We have a split entry cape so half the basement level is a garage and then the other was a big empty room so we finished that into a family room. I think it is just under 300sq ft. I can already envision Christmas mornings down there with the tree and the fireplace going. Smile
