TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger? I was 29. This is 2 years older than I thought I would be originally, but upon moving here it was before 30 which was a-ok to me.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? I didn't.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? DH came to the first and then the elective we had before Christmas which was 16 weeks so we could tell our parents together in person what we were having. Our official one was at 21 weeks.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
I was most definitely ready.
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? I labored for 15 hours at home before going in. Got sent home. Labored an additional 12 miserable/horrific hours. Nothing worked to relax me. I could not pull myself out of contractions. Not meditating, not a bath, not anything. I was DYING.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? Our hospital made us stay for two nights which was the norm for UCSF not just us.
TTC: How old were you when you started TTC? Is that the age you?d always thought you?d be when you had kids, or are you older or younger? I was 31. I always thought I'd at least have 1 child before I turned 30, so I was a bit older than I though I'd be.

L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? With DS1 I labored at home for about 7 hours and was admitted at 7cm. I wasn't in tooooo much pain until we went for a walk around the block. As soon as we got back, I wanted to go to the hospital. DS2 was a scheduled C-section, so no laboring.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer?With DS1, we spent two nights in the hospital (about 40 hours total). With DS2 we were there for 4 nights. We could have gone home on day 3, but I opted to stay the final night.

2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? 18 weeks b/c I was off the states at 19 weeks. DH came for the NT scan and the anatomy scan. I had scan every appointment on her office US machine, but DH did not come to every appointment. I did a 4d ultrasound when I went back to CA for my parents to come see the baby.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? No natural labor. I was induced 2 days early due to low amniotic fluid.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? I had a c/s, and the normal here in NZ is to stay in hospital for 5 days. I delivered DS at 1:31am on Friday morning and went home at noon on Saturday. This was not the norm. I felt great after birth, and my emergency appendectomy at 15 weeks was SO MUCH worse than the c/s. I didn't even require Tylenol after the c/s, so I asked my OB if I could leave early. She was absolutely fine with that.

I was 31 turning 32 when I went off BCP & we decided we'd try for a family. I thought I'd be done with having kids by now as I fantasized about being a 20-something mom.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.

No.

I think it was around 19 weeks. DH and sleeping DS were there.... I think that's the only appointment DH has been to this time!
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
Nope. For the longest time I felt like I had plenty of time so I put it all off, and now I'm down to the wire!
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home?
With first DD, about 6 hours. I forgot all coping techniques... With DS I was induced so no laboring at home :-( With this DD, I'm hoping to delay the hospital as long as possible....

With DD we were home less than 24 hours after I delivered. With DS they said the baby had to stay 24 hours, so even though I was cleared to go after about 12 hours, DS had to stay so we stayed another night...

I was 29. When I was 17, I thought I'd have kids at 24. When I was 24, I thought, "if I have kids," not "when I have kids"...when T and I got married, I knew we'd start TTC when I was 29 or so.

No, we just did the NT scan and bloodwork.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds?
I've had 4 ultrasounds...8 weeks to confirm EDD (even though I'd been charting), 18 weeks was our lvl 2/anatomy scan, 11 or so weeks for our NT scan, and 36 weeks they verified baby was head down. My H has been to every appt and every u/s.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
We are ready whenever he/she is, technically. But really, I wouldn't mind an extra week or two to continue nesting and getting things done. I still feel really good and am enjoying my "me time" right now.
Updates: I'm full term today (37 weeks). I have been off work this whole week, and it's been great. Getting lots of little things done around the house, definitely "nesting"...and having some insomnia (bed last night around midnight, up at 3:45am...), but I have time to nap throughout the day, so I'm dealing with it. Just getting super excited

I was 33. In a perfect world, we would be a few years younger but we weren't ready until last year.

1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? We did not with Ellie but think we will for future kids
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? Ours was 20 weeks, they wouldn't let me schedule it any earlier
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? No laboring at home for me since I was admitted for an unexpected induction after a Non-Stress Test
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? Ellie was born early Sunday morning and we went home Wednesday afternoon, we could have stayed one more day, and almost did bc Ellie was under the billi lights, but the pedi released her so I asked my OB to release me too.

2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? I think it was during week 19 and DH was there but fell asleep because he had worked all night before the u/s. DH was also at my initial u/s.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
We were definitely ready when I was a week overdue.
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? I never experienced labor.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? We stayed four days because of my c-section. I was ready to come home by the third day but we decided to stay one more night.

When I was little I thought I'd be in my early 20s, then I went through a long phase of not wanting kids, and when I met my H I started thinking about it again.
1st trimester: Have you had genetic counseling? What did it entail? Nothing beyond the NT scan and bloodwork.
2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? With DS I had it at 19 weeks. I have yet to schedule this one. DH came, but no one else.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
With DS, yes I was ready by the time I was 41 weeks!
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? I didn't labor at home, I was induced.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? We were there for 4 nights total; Wednesday night during the induction/monitoring, then since DS was born just after midnight the following day (technically Friday morning), we got a freebie Thursday night and my 2 insurance-covered nights started after that, so we left on Sunday. I enjoyed being taken care of by the nurses!
Updates: the NT scan went well and baby is measuring right on track.

We went to a fun place in week 17 with #2. Both Grandma's were there for the first anatomy scan. Dh was with me for all appts and u/s with #1. All u/s with #2.

First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? Stayed three days with number 1, 2 days with number 2.

2nd trimester: In what week did you schedule your lvl 2 (anatomy scan) u/s? Has DH or any other family members come for your ultrasounds? We only had one ultrasound, at 20 weeks. H and my Mom came to that.
3rd trimester: Are you ready?
I wasn't! I wasn't scared or anything, just had some things I wanted to do like, oh, be on maternity leave first! R was born 2 weeks before his EDD. eta: Our birth class instructor/delivery nurse said that some people with short labors feel like they didn't have enough 'transition time' between pregnancy and parenthood. When I think about the hour+ of pushing R I feel like I needed that time so that when he was here I was ready. (or maybe I'm just crazy, but that's okay)
L&D: How long did you labor at home before going in? What relaxation methods did you use when you were at home? My water broke. Since my Dr doesn't do internals I had no idea how dilated I was or how fast my labor would be since this was my first so we went right in even though I couldn't feel any contractions. When we got to the hospital I was at 3cm so they kept us. I just found out that I could have gone home at that point if I had asked, it didn't occur to me at the time to.
First days: How soon did you and baby come home from the hospital? Did anyone have clearance to leave after the first 12 hours and choose to stay longer? I tested positive for Strep B so our super conservative Pedi asked us to stay for 2 days. We came home on the 15th, R was born on the 13th.
