indoor photo shoot locations?
We are having some family photos done when we're in town later this month. I'd love to do them outside, but it will just be too stinking hot. I'm sure DH, DD #1 and I could tough it out, but I'm sure DD #2 would just scream the whole time in the heat. Not the look I'm going for for family pics.
So any indoor location suggestions? Open to any part of town, but the more central, the better.

Re: indoor photo shoot locations?
Have you asked your photog? Do they have a studio? Maybe a relatives house or a friends house.
Also think about the time of day. Maybe do them early in the morning or closer to evening time when the sun isn't so hot.
My friend (is a photographer) took some maternity and 1 year birthday pics here.... it was outside though...

Hermann Park has a lot of trees and beautiful places that aren't directly in the sun.
We did our photos last summer with Jax at the end of August. It was HOT at that time of year, but if you can brace yourself and get up before sunrise, it?s not too bad in the early morning (upper 70?s/lower 80?s as the sun rises and it?s beautiful light).
Alternatively, for indoor settings check out some hotel lobbies and see if they?ll let you shoot there. Or the Museums. Ask HMNS about taking photos in the Butterfly exhibit (although it?s actually hot and humid, but not as hot as outside right now).
Methodist Hospitals? Outpatient building in the med center has a gorgeous lobby. Here are some photos of the new building: http://www.interiorsandsources.com/tabid/3339/ArticleID/11521/Default.aspx
I *think* there is enough room on the other side of that escalator for your family to pose there for pictures without getting the escalator in the picture. You can also look up to the 2nd floor which looks down on the water wall from the side ? depending on the photographer it could make for some interesting family photos. I have no idea if they would let you do family photos there but you should stop by and ask some time. I bet on the weekends it would be ok because most of the patient care in that building is Mon-Fri.

In my experience, there are very few indoor locations that will allow you to shoot unless you are a) holding your event there, b) willing to pay their shoot fee or c) good friends with someone who will make arrangements for you to be able to shoot there.
Most hotels/restaurants/museums aren't going to be feasible locations if you go with the "we'll just show up" method... plus your pics might not turn out as well if you're trying to fly under the radar.
If anyone's staying at a hotel that has a nice lobby, you can probably get away with it. They tend not to like the whole "people walking in off the street" thing.
Also, if you do indoor pics be sure your photographer knows how to light a group indoors. People who shoot mostly outdoor/location are not necessarily always very skilled with indoor lighting.
Ask your photographer! He/She might have connections somewhere.

unless you are super inconspicuous, they do not allow this anymore (plus didn't you have your reception at icon?).
7:00 should be alright. look up sunset time and subtract an hour or so. it's usually not so bad by then.

Our reception was there, we weren't inconspicuous at all. The front desk was aware we were taking pics. It was also 7 years ago...
