Vents

1) I've only been in the office for an hour and I'm already over it. The people in this place cannot make a decision and stick to it to save their freaking lives. I need to start calling people about their reservations at one of our parks, and I need to start calling them today. Make a damn decision and stick with it already.

2) FitPregnancy sucks big fat hairy monkey balls. Despite me requesting to be removed from their email list about 10 times now since November, I'm still getting weekly emails from them. Thank you for reminding me that I should have a 4 week old baby right now.

3) We have this web based computer program that I use for a huge part of my work. We spent roughly 8 months working with the company that developed the program to get the program to work the way it should have been working. It had been running great for the last few months, then bam. All of a sudden the last few weeks, we've had issues with it. I'm about ready to throw the damn server out the window.

This week has to end some time right? I don't think there is enough alcohol in this town to get me through today and tomorrow.

Your turn!

Re: Vents

  • You need a big, big drink. I'm sorry - I hope it gets better!!

I'm irritated. Apparently, the local surgery center wasn't informed that my insurance changed [I don't know how - I've been using Tricare for eight months now, and the hospital the center is tied to has been filing claims under Tricare for months], so I found out at my appointment today that they can't do my gall bladder surgery unless I want to pay for all of it myself. And, my PCM is in Romania until next week, so I can't get this all sorted out until he gets back and we find a surgeon or gastro doctor who can see me within the next two months. Sigh.

  • We installed new doorknobs and deadbolts so Rudi can't escape.  In a matter of four days, the pretty pewter knobs are gouged with teeth marks and it's obvious he's been rotating the doorknobs in the correct direction.  It's only a matter of time before he figures them out.  1) He's giant.  2) He's like Rain Man, only he walks on all fours.

There is no caffeine in the house. I can't even think about anything else to gripe about until I get coffee or a Coke.

ETA: H just came home from the store without my caffeine because he forgot his wallet at home. There may be blood.

  • Our lease is up at the same time DH has to go train somewhere else.  We have to put our shiit in storage, then move it when the training is over.  It's a PITA.  wah.
    Shot first, questions later.
  • M has a promotion party today and I picked out the babies outfits thinking I'd have time to swing by my fave baby store and get A a bow to match (its a black/cream dress with cream bloomers), since I wouldn't ordinarily buy a black bow.  M texts me and tells me that we have to be there 30min sooner than planned.  I'm annoyed that I now have to revamp her outfit, stop anyway and be late for the party or have her go without a bow-which is not an option.  I can't believe that THIS is what's ruling my thoughts on the day my H finds out about a promotion.  I have serious priority problems.  I've decided to leave work even earlier to satiate my need for her to have a matching bow.  Don't worry, I'm shaking my head at myself, I know how crazy this sounds.

    Oh. my. Gosh.

That makes me so angry. I feel bad for the kid she's married to. He must be absolutely sick over it. Prayers to the gunny as well, obviously.

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

  • Vent: FIL is driving me nuts.  When he jokes about things, he's actually complaining.  Well, he "jokes" a lot, and I'm about to tell H that if he doesn't stop then he isn't welcome in our house anymore.  I'm about to strangle him.

He also knows that trash is a trigger for possessiveness with our dog, yet he leaves his trash around within reach of the dog.  We narrowly avoided an incident just now because I was here to stop it.  He's of the mind that if you just "show your dominance over the dog, he'll know who's boss."  Yeah dude, why don't you just try to show your dominance alpha roll style and tell me how that goes.

Confession:  I think MIL is too good for FIL.  I don't know how she deals with him day after day.  I love her and think she deserves better.

You got it!  I think I decided to go with another dress.  The bow was causing WAY too much anxiety :)

  • I'm p!ssed at the idiot on H's ship that caused everyone to lose phone privileges, meaning I didn't get to talk to H on his birthday and I won't get to talk to him on our anniversary this Sunday.

I'm annoyed that the boxes I sent H a month ago still haven't gotten to the ship.

I'm convinced the FRG leader is certifiably crazy. She sends out these mass emails asking for help with projects, then when you volunteer she responds that she has it all under control herself. wtf?

I'm mad at the company my sister and I buy paper from. They neglected to tell us the cardstock pocket folders we ordered weeks ago are out of stock. Now the deadline is a week away and we have to scramble to find it in that exact color somewhere else or have to trash and completely redesign the inserts (that are already printed) to match a different blue.

Crazy I used to live right by where that accident happened. There are some dangerous (driving) places in that area, but seriously there's no excuse for drunk driving! Especially considering how drunk she was. You sit your ass down, and you don't go anywhere till either you're sober, or you find a ride.

Styme, is there any way that you can set up a filter on your e-mail to filter those emails straight into the trash?

  • My MIL drives me nuts. Normally I just ignore her, but DH is deploying soon and everytime she talks to him she cries. Not just a little cry like all out sobs. It annoys him to no end.

Well now it's worse because his orders changed this week. She's freaking out about orders changing. So she calls me and is having one of her crying, worried sick, I can't eat, I can't sleep, blah blah blah moments. I replied with "MIL there is nothing you can do about it and you need to just enjoy the time you have with him now. There will be plenty of time to worry and cry when he's gone." She then replies with "Well I'm his mother, its different, you could never love him the way I do and your lack of worry makes wonder whats wrong with you." UGHHH!!! I wanted to jump through the phone and smack this woman. Instead I told her to finish this conversation with DH and hung up!!

This woman always makes everything about her and its obnoxious!!

My MIL is the same way. H is deployed, and every time I go over to the IL's all she says is "I miss S sooooo much!!!! *sob* That's my baby boy! *sob* I miss him!!"

Allan's aunt and uncle were like this when we told them he was joining the Navy. They acted like he was sending himself off to slaughter. When he told them he had signed the papers already they grudgingly gave their support

Thankfully my husband joined before he met me so I did not have to deal with his families freak out. When he joined MIL physically attacked FIL and threatened divorce because she thought he knew about it beforehand.

I think the thing that aggravates me most is up until now MIL has never called a lot or really tried to be an active participant in our lives, but now that he's deploying she won't leave us alone. H and her are not and never have been close. I feel like she is just a drama queen!!

  • I have a couple vents today:

    1. I'm irritated that I had all this crap happen with my mom and she's now just brushed it aside like nothing happened. I'm not so quick to forgive and forget with everything going on.

    2. I hate my job and I really hate being used as a verbal punching bag by my boss.

I think we have the same FIL.  I also think my MIL is too good for him.

Confession: We keep getting updates about H's brother and when he is getting out of jail.   I could really care less and I hope my FIL stops enabling him like we and H's brother and wife have told him to.   Other than that I really don't want to hear about it.  I was kinda a b!tch whenH said something to me about today i said well should we get him a congratualtions your out of prison card?

  • Half Vent/Half Relief:  I was supposed to go to MEPS last Friday.  It got cancelled and my officer recruiter made it seem like MEPS was at fault.  Turned out he did some paperwork incorrectly and they didn't have everything they needed to approve me for a physical.  I had been getting the runaround since and finally got fed up with it.  I was becoming severly skeptical that they wanted to help or that my application would be ready for the October board.  I called up FIL who used to be a recruiter in PA before he retired.  I now have to go to PA the first week of September to take care of my application but I now have a recruiter that I know I can trust and who I know WANTS to help me.  It's making me a lot more confident now.

  • Vent...

Having an all around shitty week.  My 3 yr old cut of this kittens whiskers Monday.  6 yr old puked in the middle of Walmart then all over the car on Tuesday.  Yesterday the neighbors above us flooded my apartment so I have hole and water leaking thru the ceiling.  All this while DH and his group have lost over night privledges because of some idiots in his group :(
