Frustrated with Leasing Agent

So we moved into our new apartment this past weekend and it's great so far.  We found a few things that needed to be fixed, so we went up to the main office yesterday and reported them to the leasing agent.  We told her we did not want maintenance to come until Friday because our dog was having a hard time adjusting and we would like someone to be home with her.

Well, just got home from work and saw that maintenance came today.  Dog is scared to death and hiding under the bed.  Grr...

Re: Frustrated with Leasing Agent

  • Yeah... I understand.  I didn't see my cat for days.

The positive is that at least they fixed it?

  • I'm sorry Ashley.  It would have been nice if they had at least called you first so that you or DH could have tried to get home to make sure your dog was not so freaked out.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad they fixed everything.  But it just frustrated me that she completely disregarded what we requested.

Finally got the dog to come out for dinner.  She can't pass up the food.  Big Smile

  • Isn't that technically illegal? I mean, you obviously don't want to start off on a bad foot with the new complex, but you specifically told them not to come until a specific date, and they entered your home without your permission or any "landlord emergency" like in the lease. I would talk to them about it, and make sure to mention that. But then again, I'm sensitive to this stuff because we dealt with it ALL the time with our previous apartment.

You're right, I really should talk to them about it.  I think I'll go up there tomorrow and mention it to the manager.
