I saw that you were a librarian and am curious if you have anyone who owes like thousands of dollars worth of late fees? I know that's totally random lol. I once owed $5 and got called on a weekly basis as if the library was a collection agency lol. There is also someone among us who can't go to the library bc she doesn't return books, but I wont name names or anything. CoughcoughTishacoughcough lol.
So it made me wonder if you ever have like crazy high bills people owe?

Re: *schuette2*
I get this question a lot, surprisingly, but it's usually when I'm giving out a new card and explaining the fees (25 cents a day, per item). Yes, we have one woman in particular who loves to annoy us to death. She has 2 accounts - tricked us with different aliases - and owes over $200 on one, $400 on the other. She's since been sent to collections and banned from checking anything out. That's an extreme, although I know there's a few accounts like hers. Usually, $20 has to sit on an account, untouched, for 4 weeks before they're sent to collections, and they're usually college students because we're 2 blocks from Purdue's campus. We had a student call a few weeks ago and pay his fine over the phone because he'd gotten a letter from collections, and was living in a different state - but at least he paid.
We had an older woman once that slammed the books she was going to check out into the inside drop box, and told my boss that she didn't owe anything and would "never patronize this sh!thole of a library again!" She was back 2 weeks later.
