Bucket List

I'm stealing this from yesterday's post of MM.  What is on your bucket list?

Mine is mainly travel based and I am looking for some inspiration to add to it -- both travel and non-travel related.

Thanks!!!

Re: Bucket List

  • Live by the beach. Any beach.

ETA: See the northern lights just once. Darn things always elude me.

  • Safari in Africa

That's the one that always come to mind first...

  • I have two lists.  One is travel related, the other is sporting related.  Coincidentally, these two lists overlap quite a bit.

Sporting life goals of things I need to see:

-the All Blacks play at home (even though I don't really like them)

-the 24 hour race at Le Mans

-the Singapore F1 night race (this will be checked off next month!!)

    -the Grand National

    -an Olympic games

    -the World Series in Cincinnati

My travel list includes the events above, but also a really long list of places that gets longer even as I cross them off.  The most recent additions are Laos and Papua New Guinea.

  • I think I'm pathetic as I didn't really know what a bucket list was...is it hopes you have?  Wants?  Goals?
I like pineapples...they make life just so much more interesting.

A list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket.

  • Travel related:

    ?    Visit Perth, Australia

?    Visit Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark

?    See the Midnight Sun with my husband

?    Introduce my favorite places to my husband

?    Have a meal at Aux Anciens Canadiens in Quebec City, Canada

?    Visit at least one UNESCO World Heritage List site in every country on my must-visit list

?    See Trinity College Library in Dublin, Ireland

    Non-Travel related:

?    Finish The Three Musketeers series

    ?    Learn Russian

?    Conquer pate a choux and frittata

?    Make felt Christmas stockings for my in-laws, a Christmas tree skirt, and ornaments like my grandmother made for my family

?    Record a song with my husband -- as soon as we find the perfect guitar/trumpet duet

?    Collect and watch all the David Suchet Hercule Poirots (and read all the books)

?    Start and stick to an exercise program -- involving yoga, swimming, tap dance, and ballet

  • Ooooh, I'm stealing expat's idea of flying first class and I'll add on a 9 or more hour flight.

The only other thing I can think of is that I really want to visit Machu Picchu.

Travel the world more in general though.  I haven't been that many places and would like to see a bit more.

  • imageMrs. DRJ:

    -Read the classics

I started on a quest to read all the Classics offered in Barness & Noble's Classics series, I think mainly because they were displayed so nicely in the store and they looked so nice on the shelves; or perhaps because I felt that I would only be seen as truly "educated" if I read and could discuss all the classics.  I started with Jane Eyre -- I hated the book and abandoned the project after only one book.  Not saying it's not a worthy goal, just don't get bogged down with finishing them for the sake of ticking it off the list if you find one that is, in your opinion, crap.  Like's too short to read bad books.  :):):)

  • I've been lucky enough to do most of my bucket list - and a lot of the lists here. Which means I don't really have any excuse to not be speaking fluent Spanish...some day.

  • I have also been lucky to do a lot of my bucket list in terms of travel and have traveled to many places, but the ones left I am dying to do are Petra, a safari and Antartica, to complete my 7th continent!

I would also love to speak Spanish fluently

  • Mine's mostly travel related. I'd also like to(cringe) finish writing a book a started almost 10 years ago.
