anyone recaulk themselves?
I need to do it in a small area in for my kitchen sink. Any advice?
Re: anyone recaulk themselves?
This! Our hardware store also has a tool that you use once you apply the new caulk to give it a clean, finished look. It also gets the caulk into the little nooks and crannies. Best $3 I spent!

My biggest advice is to just try it. It's not that hard. And if you mess it up, it's what - $3 of caulk wasted? No biggie.
If the caulk pulls up easy just pull it up and scrape up the remnants. They sell a chemical caulk remover if it doesn't come up easy.
I always just use a wet finger to smooth the caulk. It the sink is curved, I wouldn't use tape because then it will have corners.
Last caulk I used went on white and dried clear. I liked that because white was easier to see and it was not quite as messy as silicone caulk (I got it at walmart but I'm sure you can get it anywhere). Make sure you get one that's meant for kitchens and baths.
