H lost his wedding band...

I can't believe I forgot to tell you girls this!!! I guess I was so over vacation by the time we got home I forgot all about it.

He lost is in the ocean one day. Its been loose for a while and he had almost lost it twice before. It was cute b/c he was really upset about it and tried finding it in the ocean LOL. I gave him a hard time at first just b/c I knew it bothered him, but it really didnt bother me at all.

Its no big deal to me b/c he has 2 more!! When we went to pick out his band he said he just wanted a simple titanium band. So I looked around online and found 3 that he liked on overstock.com. So I ordered all 3 to see which one he liked the best and they were such a great price we kept the other 2.

I just noticed tonight that he pulled out one of the other rings today and it dawned on me that I forgot to mention it on here.  Of course had I lost my ring I'd be a mess and he'd never let me live it down. Thats why I dont wear it to the beach or pool!

Have any of you or your H's lost your rings?

Re: H lost his wedding band...

  • Neither of us have *knock on wood* - I was so paranoid on our HM I kept saying "ring check!" to make sure he still had his, lol.

  • My BIL lost his on their honeymoon in the ocean. WHOOPS!
  • Oh no!  Neither of us have lost ours, but I'm worried that H is going to.

He's lost some weight and the ring slides all over his finger.  We don't want to get it resized in hopes that he'll put some weight back on.  (He got invisalign braces about 6 months ago and he doesn't eat as often because they are a pain to take in and out.)

  • aw that sucks! but i'm glad you have spares and you weren't too upset.

once h came home and asked me where my ring was. i looked down and it was gone. he pulled it out of his pocket and said he found it on the door mat outside. it had fallen off my finger and i hadn't even noticed! i am really paranoid about losing it because it's not insured.

h barely wears his so he'd have a hard time losing it since i'm sure it doesn't feel natural when he does wear it.

Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • Oh man, it's a good thing you have 2 more!

We've, thankfully, never lost ours.  I always take mine off when I put on lotion, and one time at work I took it off, put lotion on and never put it back on.   I was running errands around campus and realized I didn't have it on my finger.  I freaked out and booked it back to my office and it was still on my desk.  I would've DIED if it had been stolen.

  • i always forget to wear my rings...probably bc i work from home and i forget to put them on when i wake up. i try to remember to whenever i leave the house...but i always forget. it SO irritates my husband...he will turn the car around and take me back home to get them. seriously..he's nutso like that.

  • We've never lost ours thankfully.  H is pretty good with not wearing it when he has to be out in the field doing demo's and just wears it when he's at the office.

I think he normally takes it off at night and I'll make sure he does next week since we'll be at the beach all the time.

I keep my band on all the time (through shower and all) since it's a cheap one.  But it's loose from losing weight so maybe I will and then we'll have to get me a new ring haha

  • We haven't lost ours.

H lost a ton of weight over a year ago, and his band was huge.  So I gave him a cheap ring I wore on one of my fingers and took to wearing his wedding ring on my thumb.  Till he was happy with his weight goal and we had it re-sized.

  • We haven't lost ours, but I take mine off at night too so I forget to put them on all the time. I always joke that someone's going to think my H is out with his girlfriend when I forget.

H's ring is HUGE on him now. He'st lost a little weight, but nothing major and for some reason his ring is gigantic. It flys off all the time, but he says he doesn't want another one. I'm about to just order him one because it drives me crazy when it flys off and we have to dig it out of the car or from behind the couch.

  • Oh no!  Glad you guys had a spare!

H has lost weight since moving here (who does that in Carb-land?  Feel the jealousy) and so his is loose too, but so far so good.

I have two very small/thin bands that I wear on either side of my e-ring.  Abt 6mos after we were married, I was washing my hands and one of the bands slipped down the drain.  Fortunately, my McGuyer-like BFF was on hand, pulled the piping apart and we got the ring back.  Pretty impressive b/c it's so small-- I was convinced it would have flowed through the drain for sure!

This is me... meaning I am like your H.  I feel naked if I leave the house without my rings on. Even if I am just going to the grocery, I will turn around to go get them if I am only a few blocks away.  I, however, will not wear them to a pool, or the beach, or if I am going walking at the park.  For our honeymoon we each wore cheapy fake bands - he bought his at American Eagle (ha!) and I got mine off eBay for like $5.  When J works at the restaurant, he will wear his fake ring; at his new job - a desk job - he wears is real ring every day.  I never wear my rings unless I am leaving the house.

After I cracked my center stone in my Ering at work I stopped wearing it. Then when I started working in the NICU I can't wear any rings with stones. So I bought a cheap tungsten ring from Overstock. I wear that to work and any time I'm worried I might  mess up my real ring. Sometimes If I'm working every other day I forget to switch back to my real ring.

  • luckily neither of us have....funny we were just talking about this yesterday, we went for a canoeing trip at harpers ferry, and on the way i asked him if he was gonna take off his ring (his is a little loose too, esp if it's cold out) and he was like "noooo, why are you?".

I said ya, since mine has stones, and i'd be devastated if it slipped off or a stone came off in the river (altho luckily, it's insured).

He was teasing me like "ok, then i'll take mine off and we can see who we can pick up on the river.'  Doofus, anyway, so I wore it & was just extra careful....i'm just kinda suprised sometimes how he is about our rings...i didn't know he'd be so cute about them.

if i'm doing dishes or cooking & i take my ring off & forget to put it right back on he's gets all..."uh huh, i see how it is..." & pouty.  Surprise
