TGIF is right! The last couple days at work have been so long! I'm taking off a little early, making a pasta salad for dinner tonight, then DH and I are going to the concert in downtown Farmington tonight and working on the house a bit.
Tomorrow is the Farmer's Market/Grocery shopping and working on the house somemore - hopefulyl we'll be ready to start priming the walls tomorrow! Tomorrow night we're going to see Somewhere in Time at the Old Redford Theatre. probably showing off the hosue to both sets of parents at some point tomorrow too since neither have seen the inside yet. We'll probably go to shurch tomorrow night too.
Sunday I have a long training run to do, and more work out the house
That should be fun!! Where are you headed up north?
We have a place near Interlochen, and we'll be going up into the Lealenau Peninsula and Traverse City! It's definitely one of my favorite trips!

Tonight - meet up some friends for dinner.
Saturday - going camping somewhere in Wixom with my mom and her friends. I'm counting down until cocktails, cooking out, playing cards and making smores. So excited!
Sunday - drive home and get caught up on work stuff.
No set plans for today, although I have a feeling my Mom and I will end up doing something later tonight. Hopefully we're picking up our new car tomorrow afternoon at some point. Birthday party for my aunt on Sunday.
And now JMCD has me intrigued regarding this Made in Michigan festival, so I'm going to look into that!
Haha - I'm really curious myself - apparently this is the 3rd year for it in downtown Northville. I just heard the radiop advertisement for it driving into work this morning. 10-9 today and tomorrow and 12-5 on Sunday, I'm really thinking about going and checking it out! Have fun with your new car - my boss just bought a Cruze and absolutely loves it and the great gas mileage it gets (we have to do a lot of daily travel for my job).
Perfect place for wine tasting and shopping!! I know this is so strange, but I actually don't like wine, however.... I've always wished that I enjoyed it more so that DH and I could take a romantic trip to Traverse City and do all the wine activities. He loves wine so I always feel like a turd for not enjoying it too. Maybe I just need to find one I like....
This week went by extremely fast!
I have a long run planned with my dad, a going away party, I need to clean my house, etc... DH is OOT this weekend doing work at our property.

That's good to hear!! I was worried it might feel a little small when we test drove it, but I was actually surprised at how spacious it felt. The trunk is really large and the back seat wasn't as small as I was thinking it would be for carseats, etc. The gas mileage was the big seller for us too. DH works about 45 minutes away, which might as well be Guam with the way gas prices are always rising. We're spending about $400 a month in gas with our current car.
Ritzy - Is there something in particular you don't like about wine? I bet we could suggest something for you to try if you'd like.
We don't have too much going on this weekend. DH needs to work on some website design stuff (my parents' and another side job). We're having FIL/SMIL and DH's uncle over for burgers on Saturday night. I might try out a new church on Sunday (not sure yet). Other than the normal cleaning/laundry/etc. I'm just going to enjoy one of the last weekends we have with not much going on!
Yeah, wine is definitely a personal thing... There are so many different flavors. I like dry white wines. I don't like anything too sweet and red is not my favorite (although, I'll drink it).
There is a TON to do in Traverse City that doesn't involve wine, but I think wine makes everything just a little bit better
I'm a big fan of Pirates Cove in Traverse City... It's the best Putt-putt around!

Oooh, good idea Jenni!
Forgive me if my description of what I don't like sounds absurd because I probably don't have the proper terminology down. Everything I've ever tasted has been too dry for my liking, and I think I need something more sweet. Someone once suggested I try some dessert wines. I'm assuming those are much more sweet?
I am like that. I don't really like dry wines. What you need are some "gateway" wines (my own term, seems appropriate though) to get you into it. Then you can branch out from there. Try a White Zinfandel, Lambrusco (Riunite is a good cheap one that's good), and then an even sweeter one would be a Moscato. I started out with those though, then branched into Pinot Grigios and Rieslings.
I only like drier wines, but I totally agree with Lindsay's suggestions. Riunite Lambrusco was my first wine. It's pretty much grape juice. I also used to drink Piesporter when I was younger, too. I've never tried Moscato, but have heard it is really sweet. I would probably go with a Riesling before a Pinot Grigio, though. I've had a Riesling called 'Relax' that was pretty sweet and mild. Another thing you could try is something called ice wine (or eiswein). It's a type of desert wine.
I've never actually had it before, but I know Boone's Farm was a big hit when I was a in college with the girls who didn't really know how to drink. I could be wrong, and you may hate it, so maybe you'd want to have someone else confirm whether its okay or not.
ETA: I just looked it up and it looks like boone's farm might not actually be considered wine anymore. But the other stuff should still be good.
