Kian, Kieran, Gabriel ?
We still have no name, things are getting critical.
Let
it be noted that the problem is my husband
I suggest names and he
says something derogatory about them so that when he comes back later
and suggests the same names, I have already "turned" on them.
We will use Alexander or Ryan as a MN depending on the first name.
So what do you think of Kian, Kieran, and Gabriel.
Are Kian and Kieran too out there for suburban Georgia?
Re: Baby name help, repost.
I come with baggage with the names. I really like Kieran, I knew a cool irish guy with that name. I went to high school with a Gabriel. The guys were always teasing him about his name.
I'd go with Kieran.
Baby K ~ born July 1
Kieran is my fave.
Then Gabriel
Then Kian
ETA: Kieran Alexander so you don't have the matchy-matchyness of Kieran Ryan
Call me Kat =^..^=
I like Kieran, but with your last name I prefer Gabriel. I think Kieran Yourlastname flows too much together and almost sounds like one word, if that makes sense. The hard L at the end of Gabriel makes a clear delineation. But FTR if you choose Kieran I do like it.
ETA - one thing to keep in mind is the spelling. Not only will most people have no clue how to spell Kian, when they see it written they may not know how to pronounce it either, so it's a double whammy for him. Kieran is easy to pronounce, but he will have to spell it all.the.time, and as someone who struggles with that, it gets old quick. At least with Gabriel 99% of people will know how to spell and pronounce it right off the bat.
My point exactly.
It will get very annoying for the both of you.
Ditto this. I'm assuming the same pronunciations, but not sure.
Also, since you are asking for opinions.... in general, I don't like boys names spelled with a "k" unless it's a traditional name like Kevin. I think it's girly or something. I don't know.
I'd go with Gabriel.
I'm sitting here saying it now... its funny cause I never tried it without a MN
When I ran Kieran by my DH, he immediately said "like the beer?" Kirin is a Japanese beer apparently... not a deal breaker, but you see what I'm working with.
This kid is going to end up being named Baby Boy
Gavin Alexander sounds fine, but I personally wouldn't pick Gavin just because it's been very popular the past few years.
totally fine, normal name.
I'm with Melissa on not loving super common names, which is why I liked Kieran to begin with.
And LOL at Kirin beer. Yes that is how I say "Kieran".
Call me Kat =^..^=
I really like it! Gavin is popular, but not so popular that I wouldn't use it. The SS website says it was #37 in popularity for 2010.
It is such a fine line with boy names. It is either too common or totally weird. Picking a girl name was a breeze compared to this! sigh...
lol, I could have sworn Gavin was higher than that. I guess I just know of a lot of baby Gavins!
Looks like it topped out in 2008 at #30, but it was way down at #85 in 2000.
