i am encountering major difficulties at work....as in hour-long conversation with HR yesterdy in tears type problems with my boss, who berates me.
boss and i are having convo today which is likely not going to be pleasant.
i know i will tear up during this meeting too which just royally sucks cuz that is so not how i want to roll.
add this to the being a grown up sucks list.
Re: need nestie vibes
ugh. i'm so sorry!! lots nestie vibes heading your way. is there any way to move within your organization? i ask knowing that was never an option for me when i had horrible bosses. at my last job in NYC, i had several closed door conversations with our publisher that usually involved me tearing up and one included a full-scale meltdown. these days, i find that almost everything about being a grown up kind of blows. *hugs*
sorry :-(
Having had a very difficult boss in a previous job- when I had to do the same type of meetings- I always made a list and had it in front of me. It kept me calm :-)
I am so sorry. Big hugs and support. FWIW I once worked with a great boss who occasionally cried so I don't think of my own occasional tears as a deal-breaker.
Let us know if you need us to stage a rescue mission.
I like this idea of a list. It helps me, too.
You WILL get through this. Just remember.... HE's the a$$hat, not you!
ditto
good luck!
That doesn't sound fun at all.
Hopefully everything goes well and doesn't ruin your weekend!

Stand up for something you believe in.
oh, I am so sorry. Do I need to go all Momma bear on the boss? Bc I will, ya know!
Remember, you are a smart woman, well-qualified in your field. Do not let him/her try to tell you anything less.

many years ago, I had a b*tchface boss who always made me cry...and I'm really not a crier. there was just something about the things she said and the way she said them that made me feel completely useless and powerless. god, just thinking about her gives me the creeps...so I can definitely sympathize.
best of luck at the meeting--stay strong!!!
and let us know how it goes :-)
Hang in there.
I cry when I get really angry. It sucks. I always feel that it undermines me in professional conflict situations, so I totally get where you are coming from.
I agree, prepare ahead of time and look at your list when you need to focus.
Good luck!
Loads of good vibes. Update us. Stay strong!
