Dad's birthday - suggestions?

I'm a bad daughter.  I think for the first time every I missed his birthday.  Well, I remembered.  I called.  I sang happy birthday.  But I didn't send anything.  I've been so.freak.busy with my new job and work travel I don't even have time to walk the dog.  well, barely.  but she isn't stopping to sniff like she used to.

My dad likes "homemade things."  A nice card, etc.  I think I've done it all over the years trying to jazz up his card.

I'm not creative.

Help! Any suggestions.  I know lots of you are on pinterest (I'm not), so maybe you saw something cute!?!

Thanks.

Re: Dad's birthday - suggestions?

  • Hi! Long time, no chat. Your new job is a promotion from the same company, right? Just making sure I didn't miss anything. Would you like to be on pintrest? One of us would be happy to send you an invite. About the gift, sorry I don't know. The only thing my Dad would appreciate if it was handmade would be something to eat.

  • Jen, lol at something to eat :)

Moon, I'm not good with gifts like that for men, but I'm pretty sure photos in frames are always good.  A collage or something as such?

  • My dad likes to read a lot and I've given him "cool" bookmarks before. I usually just do cards and simple things. Maybe you could give him an e-gift certificate to a website like amazon and he could pick something fun out for himself. On my dad's 60th birthday I really wanted to give him an actual gift so he sent me links to some different things he was interested in (mostly articles of clothing, like cool ties) and I picked one and had it delivered to him.
  • Make him a basket of things from the year he was born. Music, most popular candy, movies... etc.

    Yeah im not that creative
