Did I hear him say he was born and raised in OHIO until he was 16? If so, I kind of think the accent is fake. Reminds me of that episode of Friends where Monica's friend comes back saying things like 'telly' and 'flat' and they go off on her.
Never watched Friends, but his accent is odd. However my cousin moved to Arkansas when she was older and has an accent now. So does my brother. Very odd.
How long was she there before she developed it though? He's only been abroad maybe 6 years. I don't know when he came back to New York so he may have only lived abroad for a couple years.
Completely agree with pp about old guy with the B name. I'm annoyed he's not doing anything even remotely unconventional.

Disagree. I'm glad Josh is gone. As one contestant said, "He put puppies on her puppies!" That outfit was awful.
I'm glad that Josh got eliminated. I didn't think that Fallene's was THAT horrible. It did look relatively simple and boring, but I thought that others were far worse. Why didn't josh use the original belt he had designed (from the cat scratchers), it looked a lot better and would have at least added a non fabric element.
As far as Oliver and his weird accent... I get the feeling that he comes from a family that probably does not speak english. In Columbus, Ohio there is a huge asian population and many of the older generation (his parents age) do not speak english fluently. If this were the case he probably had some Ohio accent, but may have developed some accent just from his family. When he moved away and started to speak other languages fluently he probably adopted their dialects. It seems like he speaks pretty fluent Italian too. I also feel like he may have some hearing loss since his speech seems to be a little off in that way as well. Who knows!
Yeah, I call bs. You can *choose* to change your accent, but speech/language/accent is set when you are in early adolescence, usually between 11-13 years. If he was in Ohio until 16, then he's totally choosing to talk like that.
I lived in the UK as an adult and it is easy to fall into the accent over time, but once you return stateside, your natural accent should return.

Oliver's outfit was horrible. I don't understand how they liked it especially since the top was made from conventional material!

I agree. I really liked Anthony's outfit. And as for Oliver - didn't they boot Josh cause he used fabric? Yet they gave Oliver the win for...using fabric? I fail to see how that is an unconventional material...and it was fug and ill fitting on top to boot. And the aquarium piping belt is...modern? What?
I guess also...I'm starting to not get how gluing crap to muslin is "using an unconventional material". It just makes the garment an arts and crafts project. You are still using a fabric as the base so...

When I first saw Oliver using dog bed for the top I thought "oh dude no." But the final idea was actually kind of cool. I even liked the aquarium belt. But the fit was awful, and for the life of me I can't understand why they didn't comment on that. I think the guest judge said something about it and Heidi and Michael discounted it. The judging on this show is so arbitrary sometimes. I loved the bird seed dress and thought it should have won. And I can't believe they liked the fish rock one. It was so garish, and the skirt was see-through.
