Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

despite my pessimism
My new computer--the right one--arrive at 9:30 this morning.
Color me surprised!!
And it's fabulous, squeeeeeeeee!!!
Also, I am SO glad that I finally invested in an external hard drive and backed up my old computer using Time Machine. I plugged the hard drive into this new computer and, voila!, 45 minutes later all my files, book marks, programs, settings--everything--is on the new machine just like the old one. It's a totally seamless transition! Everything is just faster, bigger and fancier now :-)

I don't think I've ever heard a good story about backing up and transferring without issues -- so yay for you!
