Phone interview - please help!
I have a phone interview next week and am worried since I haven't done one in 5 years. Any advice on questions to ask, topics to bring up and avoid, etc.? The call is for a retail sales associate position and is a preliminary interview leading up to the face-to-face interview.
TIA!

I have done phone interviews as the interviewer and interviewee and my biggest suggestion is make sure you're in a quiet, distraction free place when the interview is scheduled for. Its a huge turn off when I'm trying to interview someone and they're screaming at their kids or pets.
Also I second the person that said to have you resume handy because you may want to be able to reference what the interviewer is talking about.
Lastly ask questions about what the day to day aspects of the job entail. It may be easy to assume that all retail sales are the same but they may not be. If you ask questions about the position then you'll know if you're really interested and if you're not then you won't waste your time or the interviewers by coming in for a job that you're not really interested in.
