Friday Confessions/Vents/AWs/UOs/Whatever...

Re: Friday Confessions/Vents/AWs/UOs/Whatever...

  • I still don't have a name for the baby (due yesterday). I'm stressed out! Suggestions?
  • I guess this is an AW or a Whatever... my mom's father was adopted and we were recently contacted by someone who is very likely his brother. they have offered to pay for our family to have DNA testing done to confirm and they would like to establish a relationship with us, if possible.

Confession- I am irrationally overthinking and freaking out about getting my hair cut and I dont know why.

Unpopular Opinion- I think vegetarians give people with real dietary needs a bad name.

  • K-hart: I vote for Carter!

Vent - Guy got into a car accident yesterday (not his fault) and he will NOT STOP WHINING...

AW - Ellie pops off with a new word every day now, it seems like. Today she said bye bye!

Don't overthink things silly!  What's funny is that due to MIA on and off on the board I had to back track all the posts trying to figure out who had already went.  The funny thing is you are a relatively big posterwell known niner so I assumed you already went lol

Confession: H likes my post baby body better (curvier) but I miss the way I looked before.

Ya, I know how you feel, lol.

AW: I'm learning to sew, and I made this pillow and blanket for Phoenix -

    image

Confession/Vent - I am not excited for Phoenix's first birthday, at all. Mostly because the only people that will be there is my sister, BIL, and niece. All other family/friends live 800 miles away so wont be there, and we haven't made any friends where we live. It makes me feel like a loser and like we're setting up Phoenix to be one too.

    Yes

LOVE Carter!  Suggestions: Jared, Blake, Noah

It is cool! El's got quite a few words under her belt now. The other day, we were eating lunch and she goes "shopping? I do!"

  • Thanks for the suggestions, ladies!! Carter got the boot! My favorite is Leo...Glen disagrees, haha.

The no -n endings is hard for boys names!  I like Gavin or Nolan for 1st names and it is hard to think of a middle name that doesn't end in N!

    Henry

    Kent

    Joseph

Rex (I love this name but DH won't use it because of the Jets coach Rex Ryan)

    Thaddeus *(Thad)

    Oliver

    Samuel (one of my faves)

    Joel

  • I already AW'd, and vented about this stupid contractor

I confess that I'm really angry that both of my vacations for this fall are canceled because DH is going back to school and taking a promotional exam. Meanwhile he's going on an overnight trip next week and on a week-long motorcycle ride to NYC in September. The last "vacation" we went on aside from overnight was for my mom's funeral. Whoop de doo. And I probably won't get a vacation before the baby comes. :(

I haven't been on here too frequently so I am behind with most everything but I totally thought you would have already gone!!  :)

  • Confession: MIL is having a cook out on Sunday. I'm sure SIL will be there....I still want to shiv her. Can't help it.

Vent: Where the hell did summer go??? I go back to work in 2 weeks!!!! Waaahhh! Crying And this is a vent because I did jackshit this summer. We were supposed to go camping: nope. Kennywood: nope. Ohiopyle: nope.....I wouldn't be so irritated by going back to work if I had at least one of those under my belt.

AW: We signed Buddy up for his intermediate obedience class!! I can't wait to take him. Plus, we took him on a walk the other day and made it halfway through without him barking at everything!! Now if we can only get rid of him pulling.

UO:Piggy backing off of stees's UO: I think kids with dietary needs should have parents that teach them how to manage them. Just b/c there are a few kids in school allergic to peanuts, then why can't I have a PB&J?? (Stupid "PB free" school....) When they go to restaurants and shiz they need to learn what they can/can't eat, so why not start young?

He's a beagle or at least part beagle, right? There's just something about beagles that they like to bark. Smile Even though we put our beagle mix through classes, he still yells at everyone/everything when we go for walks. One of our trainers told us that "he's just a jerk and will only listen to you when he wants to." The pulling is another wonderful beagle trait....

Let me know if you learn anything that helps with either issue!

Buddy is the pug mix, Benny is the beagle. And oddly enough, Benny is such a mellow beagle. He only barks at things on walks if Buddy does first. He does however sit in our window and bark at rolling leaves....We call Benny our "neighborhood watch."

Buddy gets nasty in public. He's some sort of leash reactive or something. Which is what we're trying to break him of. When we're at home he's an angel; he even let my 11 month old cousin yank on his ears/tail/face without a second glance. But when we walk or go to Petsmart or the vet he growls and snarls and is a total dogbitch.

  • Vent:  I can't get a clear answer on my due date.  Each mid-wife at the practice says it's something else.  So I'm either at 12w2d or 13w.  I know it doesn't sound like a big difference but I would rather be closer to my 2nd tri than 12w2d. That and i just look like I have a beer gut.

Double Vent:  I've been on "pelvic rest" since 9w1d.  And I am until at least the 18th of this month.  I'M SO FREAKING FRUSTRATED.

Confession:  I can't get used to the idea of calling Mark "dad" or "daddy" and it just seems awkward and uncomfortable to me at this point.

UO:  I don't think women should be allowed to wear skirts to work without pantyhose.

AW (b/c I don't think I mentioned it here).  Osi is a certified Canine Good Citizen!
