S/o: Halloween...check in!

I know most of us are looking for/thinking about Halloween costumes for the little ones. What are some ideas? Lily was a corn on the cob (gimme a break, we live in Nebraska!) last year, I need to top that this year! What are you thinking about for this year? What are some cute ideas you've seen?

  • Since we are a family of 3 still Im thinking we will be the 3 blind mice. Not a whole lot of prep needed tho!

  • I want DD to be a sheep. I found a knitted sheep hat and body pattern (using Wool Ease Thick and Quick no less) on ravelry.

  • LO is due two weeks before Halloween and I insist on dressing him up. We have 3 dogs, so it would be adorable to dress them up as the 3 pigs and LO up as a wolf, but I doubt that'll pan out.

    That's a cute idea.

  • My LO will only be about a month old but I made her a black and pink tutu and will put that on her with a white onsie and a hairbow and she will be a little princess. It will be mostly for pictures as I am not sure we will take her anywhere that young.

  • J will be a bumble bee & N a lady bug.   I keep wavering on how I'll make the costumes. It can be really cold here for Halloween, so I go from wanting them to be in tutus w/ a bubble-type top to thinking I should make a fleece vest/jacket & attach wings.

  • I think I'm going to go classic this year and make LO a scarecrow.

    a stick of butter? jk

when my brother and I were little my mom dressed us as a spoon and fork one year.  I went as a Christmas tree, once.  My brother was an apple.  He had sock puppet worms for hands sticking out of it.

My personal favorite though was one of my teacher's who went as a comma splice

she had two little santa clauses on either side of her shirt and comma in the middle.

  • We've been calling our LO Monkey since the first U/S.  We still don't know if its a boy or girl (due in Sept), so I'm planning on making/finding a monkey costume.  We'll see how much energy I leading up to it.

  • DS was a dinosaur last year and I bet the costume will still fit as I kept extra length in the hem.  But I want him to be something new.  No ideas yet, but this was last year.  So snuggly:

It gets cold here too sometimes, so I pretty much have to plan on something that could have tights and a long sleeve shirt, possibly a hat under it. The corn on the cob worked awesome last year, it was fleece and I just threw on black pants and shirt under it. Warm and snuggly. :)

I did just make her the cutest darn apron I've ever seen, so maybe a housewife? That could be funny. Picture me in my super cute apron with my yoga pants and frumpy t shirt...complete with crocs! She could be a mini-me! :P
