what shows should I watch?
I'm all caught up on DVR. DH and I have netflix. We recently watched Mad Men, Big Love, we are watching True Blood...we also like comedies (like How I Met Your Mother)... since it's summer I'm looking for older shows to catch up on past seasons. Can you recommend anything?

i'm re-watching nip/tuck and it is making me happy, happy, happy!
dh started watching heroes. it's pretty interesting!
sometimes it is. but not crazy. i loooove it. this is prob the 3rd...maybe 4th time i've watched the series.
If you like jaw-dropping drama, squirmy suspense, excellent acting, and a sprinkle of black (very black) comedy.... Breaking Bad
If you like The Office, but prefer less awkwardness and more heart (and, IMO, just more comedy, period).... Parks and Recreation
If you like dysfunctional families and offbeat, laugh-till-you-cry referential humor.... Arrested Development
If you like to revisit the awkwardness of high school featuring some before-they-were big actors against the backdrop of the early 80s... Freaks & Geeks
If you want to equally laugh, cry, and feel the warm fuzzies of family.... Parenthood
If you like sexy bad boy vampires.... Vampire Diaries

I second Boardwalk Empire. I can't wait for the new season to start in September.

Curb Your Enthusiasm & Game of Thrones (if it's out yet)
Many good ones have been mentioned. Also we just started netflixing Battlestar Galactica. I thought that was just a Star Trek type sci-fi show, but wow is it so much more amazing than that! Lots of drama and suspense and great acting.
We want to netflix Friday Night Lights next.
