Check out this Blog: 46 Freezer Meals

http://aturtleslifeforme.blogspot.com/2011/06/freezer-meals-on-cheap.html

This was linked from another blog I follow and I thought was just a great read.

I need to try out the twice baked potatoes thing.  Cheaper than the costco ones I'm sure and DH is a potato guy.

Re: Check out this Blog: 46 Freezer Meals

  • Great find. I keep meaning to try and do some meal planning this way, especially now.

Maybe in late September I'll cook

  • I started simple, baked pasta w/meat, a couple mexican things.  Now I'm branching out a bit more.

  • Thanks for the link.  I've been meaning to talk to DH about having frozen meals prepared for the first few weeks after Cody arrives.  This will remind me to talk to him and actually start making things.

  • OO i'll have to bookmark that one at home.

http://onceamonthmom.com/  This is also a great place for freezer meals.  I love how detailed they are in what you cook before freezing and what you wait to cook.  I'm not ambicious enough to cook every month like this.  But if you are making a lot of freezer meals, I definitely recommend taking a look there.

  • Wow! I'm jealous of that freezer. Thanks for the link. Maybe I'll get in a cooking mood in the fall.

Alicia, definitely do freezer meals we had a couple from people and they were life savers - I was too lazy to get them done myself so I was thankful other people did some for us.

If you read one of the future posts she did, she says she just has 2 top freezers.

We don't have a separate deep freeze, but I'm thankful the sellers left the old fridge in the garage.  Judging from its age, I'm betting its original to the house and it's just been passed from owner to owner.

I've been wanting to try the grated carrot trick too.  I might have to look into adding that into my spinach pasta bake.  If DH will eat the spinach in that, he'll never see the carrots, lol.
