AW: what I did last night. Before and after PIPs

Well, mostly before. I always forget to take pictures at the very beginning, so this was after I had already taken in the top a bit. MIL (who supports my crafting obsessions) bought this dress on super clearance, knowing it probably wouldn't fit me as is but would make a good project.

  • Thanks everyone!

Psalm, you don't necessarily need anything fancy. I have had an earlier model of this machine since high school. I use it for everything from hemming pants to freehand quilting queen size quilts.

I know.  I just have so many knitting projects in the queue, I don't want to get a sewing maching for fear of never leaving my house or talking to DH!  I don't have time to learn really.  Maybe someday...

  • That looks awesome! I love how the green sash appears to change the dominant color of the dress!
She's crafty - and she's just my type.

Thanks! I didn't even notice that, but you're right, it really does. (I also have to confess that the "sash" is some satin blanket binding that I stole from my quilting stash.)

  • What a great re-fashion.

I read the blog "A Dress a Day" which shows thrift store purchases re-fashioned.

Just goes to show how proper fit is so important.

    Great job.

  • Awesome job!  Looks like a totally different dress!
