If you knew that you are leaving your current area/country in less than a year, what local eats would you make sure to enjoy to the max because you couldn't get them elsewhere? Either obtain at all or at a decent price.
Sitting her munching on a couple dragon fruit. We have less than a year and I recently realized that there is a bunch of fruit that is considered normal here yet exotic (aka expensive) in the Stats. Trying to enjoy something at least once a week while I can. Yet now I'm wondering what else should I make sure to get in before we move. Then I wondered what the other INs would eat in their area.
Re: Local eats question
Of course you can get Italian food worldwide, but the stereotype is true-- pizza and coffee are better in Naples specifically. And I'll miss them when we go.
I'll particularly miss a porcini dish I get at my local trattoria. It's "just" porcini, pasta, and olive oil, so theoretically even I could re-created it. I've tried, but it's just not the same. I have no idea how they make such a simple dish taste so good! Oh and I adore the owner-- who brings me out fresh truffles and grates them tableside as a garnish. It's kind of fabulous
