Hoover Floormate?

If you have one, what do you think of it? Is there any other hard floor scrubber out there? I am not impressed with my shark steam mop.

I'm in the same boat.  We just bought a Shark Professional (it was the one with the hardwood/laminate setting) and so far I'm not impressed.  When buying it I was also thinking of the Hoover.  Sorry I can't help, but maybe we'll both get some good advice.

  • I have one, and I dont use it now because our house has all wood floors everywhere. Instead I use the swiffer wet jet. BUT, in our other house we had tile floors and it worked beautifully for us. I was really happy with it. You wouldnt believe how dirty the water would be when we were done, it worked so well. I say if you are in search of something like it, you wont find anything better to scrub for you.
  • Anyone know if it can be used with laminate?
  • My last house had 1000 sq ft of tile. The floormate was great! But it's more of a electric mop than a "scrubber". Yeah, it has brushes, but if there's gunky spot on the floor, you need to scrape it up before you start. But for regular dirty floors, it works well. I rarely pull it out now because it seems like a bit much to bother with for a smaller space.

I never used it on my laminate, I think it's too much water. It does suck up the water, but you are squirting a lot of water on the floor and then you go back and suck it up and if you missed backing over a spot, it leaves a big puddle on the floor - not something I'd want to risk on laminate.
