Need moving company recs for north metro

Does anyone have any recommendations for a moving company serving the north metro area.  It would consist of moving furniture and boxes from a two bedroom apartment in Shoreview to Andover/Anoka location (elevators in both locations).

TIA

  • I can't remember exactly where they're located, but we just used AAA movers for our move a couple weeks ago and they were great. Highly recommended.
  • We used AAA 5 years ago and they were great. They were the cheapest I could find at the time and their service was great. They moved us during a sucky snow storm in March. We were very happy with them.

We just used AAA on June 1 and they did a great job.

We used them and I would recommend them.

One hint if you call Two Men and a Truck for a quote ... each location is an individually-owned franchise and they don't all use the same pricing. For example, the prices through the Burnsville location were cheaper than the prices through the Bloomington location. So ... I would advise getting quotes from multiple locations.

  • Another vote for AAA movers!  We had two guys and they busted their butts all morning. They moved us from a 1-bedroom apartment (with a huge storage closet) to a split-entry house.  We have a full bedroom set of furniture and a lot of stuff. They got it all done in 4 hours (including stupid traffic from Roseville to Brooklyn Park when 694 was closed.) I was impressed. We paid $98/hr I think. They wrapped up all the big stuff and nothing was damaged.
  • Another vote for AAA Movers. Last year we had to do 2 moves, and they were fantastic on both of them. One of the moves was tricky, moving lots of stuff out of an old house with lots of nooks and crannies to move the furniture around. Not a scratch or bump on anything. In addition, it was raining cats and dogs and they had to move things to the truck despite the storm, as we had to be out of the house quickly. I was really worried there would be water damage on our wood furniture. However, everything arrived in PERFECT condition, they dried everything off the minute it got to the truck. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Also, they provide all the free boxes you want for free. You do have to pick them up and return them from their offices, but for us this was well worth it. They also provide as many free wardrobe boxes on moving day as needed, so that you can hang things from your closets during the move.
