August 2010 Weddings

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I know that our anniversaries are approaching. Ours is tomorrow. We saved a piece of our wedding cake and froze it. I took it out of the freezer today to start defrosting so we can eat it tomorrow. I heard that it is disgusting, but still want to try it.
Anyone else doing this?

We saved ours and our anniversary is next week. You're supposed to put it in the fridge a week beforehand though to defrost. I'm sure that helps with the uck-factor. Actually, most of my friends that got married last year saved their top layer and said it was very good!
Like lex, we also have some champagne from the wedding to pop. Our reception site packed us some food and a bottle of champagne to take on our honeymoon, but we decided to keep the champagne for our one year. Excited to finally have it!

We saved our top tier and 2 of our wedding chocolates to have! Our anniversary is next week (the 14th) and we are heading out of town for our anniversary trip back to Mackinac Island that day, so we will be enjoying our cake and some champagne on Saturday evening! I can't wait for next weekend!! We are going to have a wonderful meal at Arturo's (my fave restaurant...very fancy-schmancy) on Friday evening and then the rest of the weekend will be full of wedding video watching and getting ready for our trip! DH has the Monday and Tuesday off for the trip, so it's going to be a lovely long weekend for him!
Louie - thanks for the info re: taking the cake out a week before! I was thinking about that and wondering which day this week would be best, so I am going to do that tonight!!! YOU ROCK!
