Do you watch big brother?

This is our first season and we are absolutely addicted.

Rachel is dumb.  And fake. And ugly - inside and out.

Re: Do you watch big brother?

  • Yes! DH and I started watching it a year or 2 ago and we still watch. I can't stand Rachel, she looks like a bird and is so effing annoying. And Brendan? Ugh, he is ridiculous. I like Jeff and Jordan.
  • We Tivo'd this episode but I couldn't wait to see who was evicted (although I figured it would be him!) and who made HOH so I looked it up online - DH was pretty p!ssed at me about that.  Either way, I am pretty happy about how the season has progressed.  I am crossing my fingers that Rachel is out this week.

Also, I am glad to not have to listen to Brendan go on and on about how he is getting his PhD.  He may be "book smart" but he is seriously lacking in common sense.  He is so narcissistic, I don't think it has ever dawned on him that the others in the house have half a brain as well.

  • Oh, I totally agree about Brendan and his stupid PhD talk.  Get over it already, because the more you talk about it, the dumber you sound.

I heard Rachel and Brendan had a pretend big brother wedding before the eviction show.  It sounded HILARIOUS and I think Lowan officiated.  I wish they would have shown it on last night's show.

  • Yep! This is my first season to watch, as well... and I'm totally hooked. H watches it with me, occasionally.

From day 1, Shelly and Cassi were my favorites (and I was SO glad when they paired up), followed by Jeff and Jordan. So, I'm reallllllly hoping that Cassi is the one who makes it back in to the house (is it next week?).

Rachel and Brendan drive me absolutely up the wall. "You can't marry me! I'm crazy!" Brendan should consider himself lucky... I don't imagine men are typically warned.

They did have a wedding - I record the Big Brother After Dark on Showtime and I skim it to see if anything exciting happens. I just happened to be in the room when the wedding was on. It was pretty funny/completely stupid at the same time.

I wasn't too terribly bugged by who won HOH this week, but I was really wanting Shelly to win. My guess is that they put Rachel and Porche up on the block. At least, that's what I'm hoping happens.

  • I'm SO hoping that Rachel goes home next week!  Brendan is such a pansy, if he actually marries her he deserves to be stuck listening to her shrieking.  DH likes to mute the TV when Rachel is talking Stick out tongue.

And OMG--please tell me y'all saw when Rachel fell down??  I think it was Sunday's episode, she was running laps outside and totally bit it in front of Jeff and Jordan during one of her laps.  I laughed my a$$ off.
  • I saw that! It was hilarious!

Another one of my favorites is when she was in the Diary Room talking "to" Danielle about being put up on the block: "You drew (??) a sword, but I drew the Excalibur, and that sword is undefeated." *major pouty face* I laughed and laughed... it was a whole new level of pathetic-ness.

The husband and I laughed so hard at that. I actually had to get up and leave the room, I felt so embarrassed for her!!

When she fell running - that was the best.

  • Me! I'm late responding because I just watched them this afternoon and finally got home from a crappy show (A Chorus Line---really disappointing) this evening to respond. This is my second season watching. I wish I could find the past seasons online!

    A couple of thoughts:

1., from watching BB After Dark, no matter how annoying Rachel is (and she SO is!) Brendan is no shrinking violet, In fact, he reminds me of a lot of some of the male batterers I used to counsel. He is SO emotionally controlling. It's very icky. Don't feel sorry for him---seriously.

    2. I agree with you all on the PhD talk. He is an embarassment. I remember my uncle telling me when I was 19 or so, "The most impressive people I know are those who never introduced themselves as 'MBA' or 'Dr' or 'MD' or 'DDS' or 'PhD.' They're the ones that I found about through their jobs or through casual conversation a few weeks later. Be wary of those who do introduce themselves to you that way." He was SO right.

    3. As sweet as I think Jeff and Jordan are, I have to say, Dani has some serious balls!

I caught it on BB After Dark---if you have Showtime 2, you should definitely check it out some time. Lawan was AWESOME! He played the preacher and was doing some sort of Eddie Murphy character the entire time (like one of the old men in "Coming to America.") WELL worth watching!

"RaCCCHHHHelll, I said uh-RaCHHHEEElll, do you take? I mean Do. you. take. Do. you TAKE this man....to be...your LAWFUL wedded HUUUUSSSSBANd?"

"And Bbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeennnnna? Do you take this woman? This Wo-man? This Wo---man. To be your lawful wedded, ah-wife?"

He is a really funny guy. They just never show him on the CBS show because he's such a floater. I'm secretly pulling for him, just because he seems like a nice guy.
