I just started "Beaten, Sauced, and Seared: On Becoming a Chef at the Culinary Institute." I'm only a few pages in, but it has promise so far.
I recently finished "Maine" by J. Courtney Sullivan. I LOVED her first book, "Commencement," but I felt like this one ended so pointlessly and without conclusion.
What are you reading?

Someone's getting a little brother!
I read Unbroken last month. Just be prepared, it's a difficult story to get through -- not because it's badly written, it's not...its just hard to realize what POWs went through.

Cooking with Crouton: A Food Blog
I just finished reading James Patterson book (Don't Blink) Next in line, Tom Clancy's new book "Against All Enemies".
Random rambling: I can't bring myself to buy a kindle. I feel like I'll miss flipping over the pages, holding the book, so on and so forth
... every single day of forever.
This is on my list too
I couldn't either and was against it for a long time. I thought I would really miss an actual book. No, it's awesome. I do not miss trying to keep the book open. I can read while drying my hair which is great!

I'm reading Silent in the Grave, the first in the Lady Julia series by Deanna Raybourn. I was in B&N a few weeks ago and jotted down the name of a novel that looked interesting, and when I looked it up I realized it was a series. Rather than pick up that one, I started with the first. It's a pretty long book, so it's taking me awhile to get through, but it's interesting.
The last book I finished was Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand. It was okay, but not as good as some of her other books.
I'm planning to go to the library tomorrow to pick out some new stuff. I don't know yet what will be up next - depends what strikes my fancy when I get there.
I had originally been against the idea, too, thinking that I'd miss the book experience... but I'm reconsidering now w/ Thing 2 on the way, b/c it seems like it would be SO much easier to handle while up at night w/ the baby... and anything that makes those overnight hours go by better is okay in my book.
I think I'll ask for one (well, Nook, Kindle, whichever... haven't researched enough yet to figure out which I'd prefer) for Christmas.

I'm about to start "Beaten Sauced and Seared"! I'm very excited about it.
I'm finishing up Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon - it's very good.
I also have the third book in the Song of Ice and Fire series waiting for me!
Oh, that's disappointing! I just picked that one up too. Maybe I'll move it to the end of the pile...
I'm trying to finish up the "Book Thief." It's good, but I think about 100 pages too long....
I generally really enjoy her books but thought Twenties Girl was really awful
I'm reading something called How Do You Tuck in a Superhero? It's about a woman raising 5 boys. Hysterical and also kind of scary!
I've been in a reading funk lately
I'm still working on last month's bookclub book, Drowning Ruth!
I read Unbroken last month - it was fantastic.
I've been driving to work this summer (vs taking the train), so my reading is going pretty slowly.
Just read Little Bee and in the middle of Bossy Pants.
I've requested Then Came You and A Stolen Life: A Memoir.

I just started A Stolen Life, my heart just breaks.
DE IVF #1= 04/11 - BFP
Agreed. Some parts have been very difficult to read. What a strong lady.

I haven't gotten to it yet, but now I'm bummed!
