Re: Morning!
Good morning! Today marks the beginning of my second last week of work, and then I'll be unemployed again.
QOTD: It's called Hawaiian cake. You make a topping (vanilla pudding mix powder, crushed pineapples and cool whip), then you cut a yellow cake in half and put the topping in the middle and on top. I love it so much. It's refreshing and delicious.
Oh how I miss Cool Whip.
Morning, just work and the gym. Nothing too exciting
QOTD: Either icecream cake which I haven't had in ages or chocolate with vanilla frosting.
Morning.
I had to play the "evil person" today. I went to walk Delta in the markets and this shop-keeps 6 month old puppy kept doing the aggressive play lunging thing at Delta, we couldn't get by, and of course his dog wasn't on a leash. At one point two of his customers came over to try to distract the puppy so we could leave. That didn't work. I had been calling for him to come get his dog, but finally screamed it. He came over, yelled at me that "he was working and busy". I told him "then keep her on a leash". He told me, "NO. NEVER! Keep your mastiff out of the markets!"
Uhm, yeah, we are down there at least once a week with no problems, so I don't think we'll be staying home. So, one little stop at the police station later... I told the police I didn't want to file a formal complaint because this is a small village (600 ish people), but they needed to know in case anyone else ever complains. The police were very nice and said they'd take one of their dogs for a walk and see what was up. I guess they have had problems with the market shop keeps in the past that they wanted THEIR dogs to be allowed there, but all other dogs to be kept out.
Honestly, if he had come and gotten his dog and we were able to continue on our merry way, I would have thought nothing of it, but the guys attitude p!ssed me off.
QOTD: A cake that can only be had in MI. It's called a "bumpy cake"
http://www.sanderscandy.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3
and OMG, it has it's own FB page!
Good morning! Today I'm figuring out how I can accomplish what I need to including some work for my US job and still keep mil entertained. We are all going to see Billy Elliot tonight.
QOTD: Angel food cake with whip cream and strawberries.
Today is my last Monday at work.
Only 4 more days of work and only 11 days until I go to the US for the first time in almost a year! It'll also be the first time baby C meets my family and friends. SOOOOO excited!
The fact that I have no idea what's next for us makes me very anxious but I'm working on getting that whole "zen" feeling in my life. It's going to take some work on my part because I'm, by nature, a very high-strung person. I'm hoping to be able to just channel some energy and work on myself and enjoy baby C for a while.
QOTD: Funfetti cake or lemon cake. I used to work at an events center and for 3 years I got to eat wedding cake nearly every Friday and Saturday nights, haha. What a job that was!
Good Morning.
QOTD: vanilla with buttercream frosting
Morning everyone! Nothing big on the cards for today... hopefully our house will be in top shape once the landlord is done with everything. He is really scared of our (18 pound friendly little dog), so we have to make arrangements for her every time he comes over. It's really funny. Gym tonight. I'm excited because we are just moving into a new phase, so I get to do something new! I was getting sick of the old routines.
QOTD: Not really a big cake person, but let's go with chocolate fudge. Or carrot cake with walnuts. I don't really know about the different frosting types. Is it cream cheese that goes with that?
Morning! I'm spending the day chasing the baby around the house and trying to start cleaning up a bit. My college roommate's little sister is coming to spend two nights with us this weekend, so I have to clean the bathroom and stuff like that
Hmm... birthday cake? I have lots of different cakes I like. One of my favorite is Angel Food cake. We bought the pan for it online a couple weeks ago, and I made it from scratch! Pretty much as long as its not a store-bought cake (especially not a British store-bought cake) I will like it.
Good morning! Nothing too exciting going on in my world today.
QOTD: yellow cake with vanilla buttercream frosting
(I have actually been known to buy a small grocery store birthday cake when I'm in the US, just because I love it and never have it here.)
Good morning!!!
Not much happening here -- well other than my continuing fight with my electric company. It's looking to be a quiet week. I think the highlights are the batch of cookies I am planning to make on Thursday. (DH works late Mon, Tues, & Wed, so I am making the cookies Thurs to have someone to share them with.)
QOTD: Made at home (usually from a mix): I prefer either white cake with strawberry frosting or strawberry cake with white frosting. If it's a bakery cake, I will always pick white cake with buttercream frosting and no fruit filling -- my office got birthday cake once a month and this was called "plain wedding cake."
Morning! I'm just sitting at my desk, frantically waiting for an update on a project I'm working on. Once I get the update, I'll be fine, but the wait is killing me.
QOTD: CHEESECAKE!!!! And Angel Food Cake. Both are extremely good.
Good Morning! (I think, it's 5.14am and I am up with DD blerg) I am supposed to be going to Nordstroms today with my mum to pick out a dress for her to wear to a wedding in the UK. I hope we find something, I also have to start looking for an evening dress for a NYE wedding in downtown Chicago. Should be an interesting day that's fueled by coffee haha
Favorite cake? Strawberry shortcake especially when there's whipped cream frosting involved. And of course cheesecake topped with strawberries!
Morning ladies. Nothing special today, just a typical Monday. We were so unproductive this weekend as we celebrated our anniversary, so hopefully we can get some stuff taken care of around the flat tonight.
QOTD: Chocolate mousse cake. Or those chocolate fondant cakes with the liquidy inside. Yum.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
Welcome back Lelia, though I liked it when we were in the same country again
Happy Birthday!
I'm up early after a few wake ups with Alexandra. I hope to go back to bed for an hour or two in a bit.
QOTD: Rainbow cake with the frosting with little rainbow bits.
Morning! Just here at home. Today I'll be having lunch with DH, the ILs, and some other family that's in town.
OOTD: A chocolate cake that our family calls Aunt Frances Cake. It's delicious!
Hey ladies. Nothing much today, just work and going home to do some more sorting/editing of trip photos and maybe a new blog. H left for the states today and I'm sad - 2 months is the longest we've been apart and I know I'm going to miss him like crazy!
QOTD: Ice cream cake... since my birthday is in the summer sometimes we did Wattamelon cake from Friendly's. Remember that?
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Good Morning, well afternoon now.
QOTD: My mom always made me german chocolate cake with the best frosting as a kid and it's still my all time favorite.
Afternoon ladies!
This weekend was great, we had friends over and got to do some touristy things and ate some great cheese (we had a cheese evening).
Today we (my mum and I) took the pup to puppy school and went to see if the local natural sore had cloth diapers that I liked (they didn't).
I am presently feeling very chuffed with myself because I figured out how to breastfeed with E in a wrap so I have to hands while she's eating, SCORE!
QOTD: I don't usualy have a b-day cake as I'm the one that makes the cakes in the house, normally I made an apple crumble to take to work with some vanilla ice cream
I'm in Seattle visiting DH's famiily and my parents flew up for the weekend. They leave today.
QOTD: Funfetti with rainbow chip icing.
