My moan is that DH's car needs some work - he sent me a text this morning saying that it was almost stalling at each stop and the check engine light is flashing. Ugh. That's never good.
Kim-I'm so sorry about your dad and about being on pager, hopefully this week is quiet for you.
my moan is that I am working PRN which means "as needed". They wanted me to work last Thurs. and Fri. half days and told me about it the night before, no biggie. On Friday I had to cancel lunch plans with a friend but I figured I needed the money more. I also have covered last minute for on call on the weekends and am covering a shift on call Saturday even though I have a wedding reception that I could miss the beginning of if I get called in.
So at 7:45 am they called and wanted me to work, the day got really busy. I had made plans with my sister and friend to meet for lunch at 12:30. We made these plans last week and my sister is going through a really bad break-up and I really didn't want to have to cancel last minute on them. Plus I hadn't washed my uniform so I'd have to wear a dirty uniform to work.
When I told her I couldn't make it in she was very understanding but I still felt bad. And I also feel bad that I turned down an opportunity to make some money, DH will probably be really upset if I tell him.
I think from now on I'm going to stop making lunch plans (especially on Mondays) and make dinner plans, and keep my days free so if they need me I'm available.
1) I'm tired of waking up early. I have 3.5 weeks left before school starts - I just want to sleep and get to the beach! I have a beach day planned for Wednesday and maybe for Friday too. But to get a call at 8am today to be told that our inspection window is between 1 and 3 bites, because I couldn't fall back to sleep.
2) I feel really fat. I just do. I am trying to diet and I am working out - powerwalking 1.5 miles on the treadmill - but I hate my middle. It's really depressing.
3) We are trying to put together an end of summer/housewarming party. We set the date for the weekend before labor day and some of our closest friends (we had mentioned this WEEKS ago), are bailing! We invited about 40. So far, 5 have said yes (including so, so really 3), and 6 have said no. I'm really afraid no one will come!

I am so impatient!! We put in an offer on a house on Wednesday, but it did not get submitted until Friday since we needed to fill out an extra form, the house asking price was reduced on Thursday, so now our offer is only $15k under asking price... and I am dying to hear back but since it is a foreclosure it may be a while... I am praying that they get back to us soon!!!
3 weeks until school- and I have not done any planning-- ugh!! time to get to work!

Mice! We've had traps set for a week- first the mouse or mice ate through our garbage bags under the kitchen sink last Thursday, then the last two mornings we woke up to sponge shavings. We did get a mouse in the trap this morning, so I'm hoping that was the only one! We'll keep traps set the next few days, then spray that foam expanding stuff around the sink pipes.
Plus still no calls for interviews.
