This is a potentially stupid question.

Would you wear a pearl necklace with diamond studs? Attire for a function/dinner DH and I have to go to is supposed to be "cocktail." The dress is my Ann Taylor LBD The necklace looks like this:

i think it's fine, they're both pretty neutral...but pearls don't really scream "cocktail" to me.

But, I agree. I don't think of cocktail dress + pearls in general.

I agree.

It is more an opportunity to wear a necklace that I don't wear that often. I might go with something that's a bit more fun or a necklace with some color, or maybe I'll just go with the earrings and a cuff bracelet.

i agree that the studs and pearls can go together. as far as the cocktail dress, it depends how "cocktail" it is. pearls and slinky black dress= no. pearls and sleeveless black dress= yes

I think they look fine together. I agree that it depends on the type of dress though.
