QOTD?

What do you do to keep your house smelling clean and fresh?  Do you use Glad plug-ins or something of the sort?  Do use a non-plug in freshner?

Re: QOTD?

  •  We have a couple of those plug in things for the bathrooms that I will use on occasion when necessary. We tend to just burn a candle. We have a couple of apple spice type candles and a couple lavender ones that we both like ok. I did get a magnolia one and it was fine but when it burns too long its a little  too much for me. DH seems to like it though.
  • We use candles. Every time I have tried to use the plug ins, they end up discoloring the wall behind them (got tired of touching up the paint all the time).

Another thing that we use to freshen up the house is the type of carpet freshener (glade pet odor eliminator). It has febreze in it and will have a lasting fresh scent for a week after vacuuming.

  • I'm a huge fan of the febreeze air freshners. I love their scent, and I use them to spray the couches in the family room where our babies hang out, their crates and the carpet occassionally. I do remember loving the glade carpet fresh though - thanks for that reminder! I think I'll pick up a couple when I go to Wal-Mart next time :-)

  • I like Febreze, and I use the Yankee Candle tarts.  They are cheap and I can switch out scents more easily when I get tired of it.  My current fave is Mango Salsa !!!
  • I have a plug-in where the litter box is and 2 non-plug-ins, one in the bathroom and one in the living room.

  • Heehee, Mel, this question made me giggle!  When pregnant I had a super sensitivity to smell so everything bugged me :)  I love febreze, that helps a lot. I also kept a few lemons on hand for when a smell would really get to me.  Whether just to smell, put in water or down the disposal it was always a good idea to keep a couple around :)

Hows the pregnancy going?  Have you been having a lot of morning sickness? If so you *should be out of the woods with that soon!

  • I have two plug-in ones and one non-plug in. I need to get refills for them, though. I just get whatever I can double up a coupon and a sale with. They are pretty cheap then. I also will use candles or febreeze sprays occasionally.

  • I have a plug in diffuser for essential oils. You can get any scent so it depends on preference. They should be available at any health food store where the oils are. DH doesn't like air fresheners so I don't use them unless it's really necessary. I like a candle once in a while but I don't care for fresheners either. We don't have any fur babies so that helps not needing them so much.

To be honest, it sucks!  I already told DH that I'm NOT doing this again!  The m/s is pretty much all day and I feel so useless.  I really hope the m/s ends in the 2nd tri and I'm not cursed with it through the entire thing!

  • We use candles every now and then. I have a couple of plug-in's in the bathrooms and one if the kitchen. I also love febreze, and use it often!

Sorry to hear about the morning sickness...I bet that is pretty rough. Nestie vibes that it will be gone soon and you will be back to normal for the 2nd trimester!

My sister was soooo sick when she was pregnant she swore up and down she'd never do it again. Then she loved her baby so much she had two more, and I swear she'd have 1000 if her H didn't convince her to get her tubes tied b/c it was becoming a danger to her health. Just sayin'.... Wink

  • I usually just go candle-crazy.  The jar candles from Bath & Body Works are my favorite.  Those and Yankee Candles seem to have the strongest scents.  Even when they're not burning I can still smell them in the living room.
